Ocean View Apartments

I have lived in this apartment complex for the last year. Safety as a woman is always a number one concern wherever I live. Originally, I did not feel I'd have to think about that as much in Santa Barbara in comparison to major cities.

However, this apartment complex has large, overgrown hedges directly in front of them. Not only do they limit use of the sidewalk, the main concern is homeless men living behind the hedges against the apartment building. I have had lewd comments made to me,... and I have felt uncomfortable being followed home by one man in particular.

I would think the landlord would consider safety for tenants as a priority, however, I have had zero response to requests to trim the hedges down. As a single woman, I would not recommend this apartment building. I know other neighbors who purposefully do not use the sidewalk directly in front of the apartment building at night for safety reasons. Lee mas

My security deposit is not returned in 30 days. I paid for pluming repairs and had a very miserable time with the washer and dryer. The roof leaked and was never fully fixed and the kitchen light didn't work on day one. Never believe a word Mr. Lee said--you have to write down everything you said to him and he said to you and have him signed on it; otherwise he won't admit it.

The deceit and dishonest hurt my heart!! It was the most painful rental experience for me and my three kids...
