Bug Infestation Nightmare
From the first day I moved in, I noticed a major bug problem—mainly silverfish and spiders. I assumed it was due to the unit being unoccupied, but it quickly became clear this was an infestation. I saw multiple silverfish daily, in every room—they even fell from the ceiling onto my bed. I spent hundreds on traps, dehumidifiers, and pest deterrents, and had to throw out furniture before moving.
Despite frequent pest control visits, nothing improved. The tech even said other residents had... silverfish eating their clothes. I eventually found traps on my own that helped a bit, but the bugs kept coming. There were also Palmetto bugs, ants, beetles, centipedes, and a June bug infestation in spring. I’d find June bugs crawling under my door every night until the weatherstripping was replaced.
Management repeatedly dismissed my concerns, saying things like “Florida has seasonal visitors.” After many calls, one staff member apologized by phone—never in writing. I tried to post to the community board to ask for advice, and they blocked it. Pest control was sent again, with no improvement.
I keep a clean home—this wasn’t due to poor housekeeping. The building is the problem. The infestation severely impacted my mental health. I dreaded going to sleep and spent far too much time and energy trying to manage it. I considered breaking my lease but didn’t want the financial consequences. I stuck it out and now that I’ve moved, I finally feel peace. The difference is night and day.
To top it off, they’re keeping most of my deposit for “cleaning” and “repainting,” even though I left the apartment in great shape with only normal wear and tear. I never had that issue anywhere else.
I’m writing this review to warn future tenants. This complex has serious pest issues and management that doesn’t care. I truly regret ever signing a lease here.
