Pierhouse at Channelside

Pierhouse is definitely the budget building in Channelside. Its and old and cheaply made building, apartments are decently sized though. If you can afford a different apartment in the area I’d do that.

Pros
-Great location.
-Amenities are nice enough for the price point.
-Maintenance responds quickly.

Cons
-Noise. Cheaply constructed building, you’ll hear when your upstairs neighbors walk, talk, flush. You’ll hear your neighbor’s dog bark, TV, etc. It’s significantly worse than your typical... apartment.
-Appliances are old and cheap and break down frequently. They replaced my hot water heater but still only get a few minutes of hot water
-The buildings smell a bit funky.
-Management has some weird policies. If you want to borrow a fob for a few days for a guest they ask for $325.
-No guest parking

Don’t waste your time!!! There are plenty of places in channelside. Our cars always hit things on the ceiling of the parking garage (the gate to the garage has been broken half the time of us living here also). They will randomly decide they need to pressure wash a bunch of balconies and will enter your apartment without even having the decency to give you an exact day or time!! The top pool deck and workout room was closed for months for “renovation” and nothing had been done except noisy... construction that you can hear from. The pool is filthy. They show you what they want you to see!! Much more beautiful apartments elsewhere for way cheaper Lee mas

The management here is absolutely the worst. I was asking them a question about getting taken off the lease and they were being extremely rude to me about it. I was only trying to clarify the information they had told me. When I told them that they didn't need to be so rude to me about it, the manager literally laughed and told me I was being rude. This is so unprofessional, I have had wonderful experience at other apartments in the past. This is not what I was expecting from a luxury apartment.... I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. Location is good at Channelside. However for the price, the infrastructure is not as nice as it could be. People walk/run in the hallway, it feels like the whole building is shaking, lights blinking. Being on the 2nd floor of the 4-story building, ants/bugs getting in from the patio, non-wood flooring, small window in the bedroom and weird hall to the bedroom, etc... paying almost 1600 is a lot for that. The location doesn't do that much any more.

Pierhouse is a relaxing, comfortable place to live. It's always clean and the residents are friendly. It is dog friendly and everyone usually follows the rules. There's an orange theory fitness and new pizza place in the complex, so it's perfect for anyone's lifestyle.

The only downside is that people can be loud and the walls are thin.
