DON'T MOVE HERE!
I'm a current resident and I will be leaving before my 1-yr lease ends. It's been a terrible experience since I moved in July 2024. The neighbor beneath me has done nothing but complain every time they hear a noise from my apartment. I have a 30 lb dog that plays like any dog would. They reported me for that. When I first moved in, I rearranged my furniture to fit the space. They reported me for that. Opening my sliding door to go out on the balcony - they reported me because they could hear... when the door closed. My 2 yr old godson came to visit on the weekend. And yep, you guessed it! They reported me for that and called the cops too. And just for clarity, I don't throw parties or have lots of company over; they simply hate hearing me do my normal routine IN MY HOME - cooking, cleaning, working, watching tv, playing with the dog, etc.
I spoke with one of the leasing agents and he told me that quiet hours are from 10pm-7am. (This is also stated in the community rules.) Since then, I've made sure to crate my dog during those times so there's no excessive noise. Well, that wasn't enough because they're now saying that I've violated my lease due to a noise disturbance at 3:30pm. Apparently, my dog playing was too loud again. I may not be a lawyer but how is my dog playing in the early afternoon a noise violation when it's not during quiet hours? Would it make them happy if he's crated all day long? Probably not. They need to be honest and just say they don't want pets here instead of pretending so they can fill the units - only to torture people until they leave.
In the meantime, there are big cracks in the walls from the building shaking all day due to the nonstop construction on the Beltline. That has been going on since I moved in. Maybe we should be addressing the water getting shut off for 2 hours every other day without any reimbursement. Last time that I checked, not having running water in a home deems it unlivable. But, again, not once have they offered any reimbursement or consolation. Or, maybe we should address parking since they boot our visitors' cars even when they've paid for 24 hrs. Oh, and yes, all visitors have to pay for parking rather than giving them a guest pass. There are actual problems within this community that need to be handled - all of which are much more important than my dog. But again, we'll be gone soon. I just hope this review keeps someone else from making the same horrible decision that I did by moving here.
