Deceptive Practices and Terrible Management
I have experienced multiple issues with Indian Springs Apartments that prospective tenants should beware of before signing any lease agreement here.
Firstly, the management practices regarding lease renewals are highly unethical. Important changes like rent increases happen ANNUALLY, and are sneakily buried in lengthy documents, misleading tenants and leaving zero room for negotiation. When I raised my concerns, the response was dismissive and condescending, and I was coerced into signing under... threat of an exorbitant $350 monthly surcharge for the entire term of the next lease. This would have cost an additional $4200 a year, on top of the $660 increase they've slapped me with already on my annual rent.
Additionally, the maintenance services here are severely lacking. Upon moving in, my dryer was inoperative, and it took over two months and multiple maintenance requests to address the issue. Other maintenance problems, like a poorly reglazed bathtub, have been met with cheap, ineffective fixes. In winter, the sidewalks are over-salted to the point that it’s harmful; my dogs’ paws bleed from walking on them and I have to keep my dogs off the sidewalks all winter long.
These are not mere inconveniences, but systematic issues reflecting Indian Springs management’s disregard for tenant welfare and ethical business practices. I unfortunately had no choice but to sign a 2nd lease term under duress due to these underhanded tactics, but I pray I can escape this place next year.
I hope my experience serves as a warning to others considering this complex. Think twice and scrutinize EVERY document before you commit, or better yet, just find a place that respects its tenants and operates transparently.
