Twin Oaks Village Cozy Apartments
My husband moved to Twin Oaks in 2010 and I moved in with him in 2013. His one bedroom apartment was perfect for him as a bachelor. Once I joined him, it was a bit crowded with less than 600 sq ft total living space. We are on the middle floor so there is an apartment under us and above us. We've had at least 2-3 new people under us over the years and at least 4-5 new tenants over us in 11 years. The walls are thin but we don't hear the neighbors too much. We'll there was a couple that... fought often and the police had to be called on several occasions. Also one of the tenants above us did watch TV loudly in their bedroom all night long but they weren't there more than a year. Our current neighbors over us are so quiet we forget anybody lives there.
The management team and maintenance has always been responsive when things need attention. They do an inspection once a year to ensure everything is in good working order and good repair. They cover/uncover the AC units for you in the summer /winter. The rent goes up a little each year but that's common everywhere so it's expected to some degree. I wish it only went up every two or three years instead of annually but it is what it is.
We have a pool but they are in the process if deciding if it should be closed and possibly making additional outdoor space for families to hang out together.
We've outgrown the one bedroom apt and after years of trying to decide whether to buy a house or move to a bigger apartment, we've decided to stick with Poorvue and move to one of the other complexes that has a 2 bedroom apartment available. It won't be huge, but it will offer a second bedroom and an little more space. Was really hoping for one of the townhouses with 1.5 baths but apparently the people in those don't move often as they are premium units.
All in all Poorvue has been a good company and we're happy they are able to continue accommodating our little family.
