Riverfront Towers Apartamentos

Moved in a few months ago in one of the higher floors. The AC/heat comes from a window unit that looks really old and is really loud. The wall/windows around the heating unit are not air tight, so cold air is constantly blowing into the apartment and keeping the heating unit running throughout the whole winter. Even with keeping the thermostat at or below 65 degrees, my DTE bills are over $200/month for a 700 sq ft apartment in the winter because of how inefficient the old heating unit is.... Maintenance said they could only tighten some screws and put tape around the unit to seal some of the cold air out, but the heater is still constantly running (loudly), randomly restarting itself, not being able to keep a steady temperature due to the cold air blowing in, and the front office won't authorize a replacement or help with the high heating costs. The maintenance guy was nice though, and the apartment has a nice view.

As I'm writing this, everyone on my floor has been in the lobby because for the second time this week there was a fire alarm and thick smoke on our floor. We have been here from 2:30am (it's 3:50am right now) waiting for anyone to let us know what's going on. Half an hour ago, a security worker said the Fire Department was on the way, but still no sign of them and that security guy left too.

It's been 1 yr staying at the Riverfront Towers. Since day one management was very helpful and welcoming us into our home. The scenery is beautiful. The pool, hot tub, and sauna is relaxing. The fireworks was exciting for the family to see from the riverfront. The night atmosphere is romantic with the firepit and night lights from the bridge/Canada. They keep the place really clean. The store is very convenient The neighbors are really nice. Security is super secure. Easy commute with the... Detroit People mover. Also thank you to Shakeiah Johnson for renewing our lease and being so kind to our family! Lee mas

Elevators never work, when you leave the property they send you to collections. A lot of noises, hot water doesn't work a lot. They DO NOT return your deposit.

Cute if you don't want for much! I've lived here for 3 years, besides the constant elevator outages, horribly filthy elevators and carpeting on all floors except the Penthouse, and forget it if you have a dedicated, assigned parking spot due to medical reasons. I have one...yet had two different cars park in my spot this weekend. Security's answer-we'll tag them but won't tow over the weekend. There is a MEDICAL reason that I have this spot. I spoke to several other elderly and handicapped... folks who have dedicated spots and they all say the same thing....most of the time their spots are taken by visitors because they know Security won't enforce anything. Also, if you live high up, be prepared to let your hot water run for at least ten minutes in the morning to get it warm, and those Heat pumps are the worst money spending offending utilities! Also, the Windows in Tower 200 have never been updated....you're living on the water with drafty windows. I have actual video footage of the blinds being blown INSIDE from the wind that leaks through. I once liked this place, a lot, but the negatives are starting to outweigh it. I asked security again today-when will this offending vehicle be towed out of my spot? Their answer, and this was the supervisor-Sir, you're harassing my staff, we already told you, we don't tow on weekends. YOU KNOW WHO THE CAR BELONGS TO, GO CALL THEM OR KNOCK ON THEIR DOOR AND ASK THEM TO MOVE! (The latter part is me saying that to them). Stay away, go for one of the new buildings downtown, there's plenty of them. Lee mas

There are so many things wrong here. I've lived here for 3 years asked for some minor details to be updated on my unit and nothing has been done. Parking-I have a dedicated handicap spot due to Nerve issues, Dr. Approved, and I've had this designated spot for over a year. Yesterday, someone decided to park in my spot while I was out. Security told me they don't two cars, they'll just put a notice on it. They KNOW how the car's owner is as they're writing this info down. I came down the... next day to see if I can move my car, only to see ANOTHER car in my spot. Security said the same thing, we'll tag it, but won't call for a two over the weekend. They even told me that they knew who this car was visiting, apt and phone number, bur rather than asking them to move their car, nothing. The parking situation here is beyond horrible! They need to make 3 floors for residents ONLY, no guests, and keep guests parking below or on the first level. Lee mas
