Franklin River Apartments

This apartment complex has roaches!! Do not live here, they do nothing to correct it and will send a exterminator out and they will do nothing! The office staff does not care at all!

I have never written a review but I feel like I must warn everyone. This is the worst place I have EVER lived. For the amount of money this place is asking for, the management and maintenance do a horrible job of keeping up with the place. This place is NOT secured at all. The security here is just for show, any and everybody could just walk in at any time with no problem. There is always trash all over the grounds. The smell here is horrible. The hallways are always filthy and very much... outdated. Forget about having a secured mail area, your package will be gone the moment it's delivered. The mailboxes are cheap and broken. Anyone could easily access your mail with no trouble. If you come here be prepared to have a sleepless night. These walls are extremely thin. The sound of dogs barking all day and night. If you work from home this place would be a nightmare. The inside of the apartments needs major updates. The plumbing here is horrible. My master bedroom window leaks nonstop. Every time there is a storm I wake up with wet carpet in the area. The A/c never blew out in the master room, it only worked in the front room. It is always hot in that room to the point I always have to have two fans going. The appliances are outdated. You will always have to watch your account because they would throw charges on there and not notify you. They would notify you about pets that you may or may not have, about upcoming events, and any other nonsense, but NOT when it pretending to your account. That's how they make extra money from the residents. They would throw extra charges with no warning and let it accumulated before they finally send you a notice. By that time they are threating to evict. I have seen this happen way too many times here. The staff is no help and useless. I have literally watched this place continues to go down. Signing a contract with this place is like signing your life away with no way out. This place costs way too much for what it's worth. With the amount they charge here there should be less problems and the staff should be like Johnny on the spot when issues arrive. I should never have to keep contacting someone about the same issues to be fixed. If the sq.ft. is what you want search for any other option. I made a horrendous mistake of not searching for other options. Unfortunately I am STUCK for another 12 months but you dont have to be. SAFE YOURSELF!!! Lee mas

Got water haven’t been working for over a week, take to several staff member stating this issue will be fix and it’s still haven’t. No security camera at the facility. Security gate always open.Due to poor maintenance,security and staff I wouldn’t recommend anyone living here.

I've lived here 4 yrs and overall, its a good place to live. The complex is kept clean and maintenance does a good job in keeping the grounds clean. However, is there is not enough communication to tenants about issues happening within the complex. Recently, a local newpaper reported from July 2020 - Oct. 2020, multiple cars were stolen from the complex (per Southfield Police report logs), however Mgmt did not share this information with tenants. Franklin River Apts. has only one (1) security... car and it does not patrol 24 hours a day. Tenants should be made aware of these things. Lee mas

I’ve been living at Franklin River Apartments since 2012! And just love it here, I’ve seen people come and go since I’ve been here! It’s now 2020 and now the new tenants use the laundry room all night long even though you’re supposed to use the washer and dryer from 9am-9pm! I’ve notice the tenants that have moved in, in the last two years are louder neighbors and have no respect for others, and there poop they don’t pick it up, cars burning rubber in the complex, and the staff are very nice... people, I’ve seen them come and go as well! Even the young lady who come and clean up the building hallways and laundry rooms is very nice and friendly! We always speak and sometimes have conversations on how the people are now compared to when I moved in 2012! I have no complaints about the staff and the maintenance crew! There very nice and professional, they always cleanup after the repairs are finished, and I even have conversations with them, very nice crew! I read some of these reviews and know there not true since I’ve been living here! I don’t what building there living in, but if I felt Franklin River Apartments was a terrible place to live, I would have moved out years ago, but I’m still here! Thank you Franklin River Apartments for making me feel that I’m like family! Lee mas
