Moved in because it was cheap, got what I paid for.
Here’s a list of issues I experienced throughout my 3 years here, at Maple Grove Apartments, that I started to compile during my time here in anticipation of them pulling some stuff on checkout, which they are indeed attempting to do:
. Sewage has come up through the bathtub and the kitchen sink
. Water has been turned off for hours without warning
. Woken up by apartment construction (a jackhammer) in the stairwell at 730am to which the landlord replied that it was legal and she wouldn’t do... anything
. Raised rent during coronavirus lockdown for many tenants
. Obnoxiously loud landlords when in hallways
. Stolen packages
. Loud inebriated neighbors
. They paint the apartment door once a year which has made the door so thick it's hard to close/open, especially in the summer
. Yearly ant problem.
The ants were coming in from the cracks in between the counter and the wall and management was slow to respond so I used a caulk gun to fill the cracks. Upon leaving they are attempting to withhold my security deposit and take me for over another $100 to replace the entire counter which already needed replacing upon my arrival. They added in other “cleaning expenses” of $100 which they will undoubtedly by using to upgrade the apartment on my dime rather than theirs.
These people are cheap, dishonest, and reluctant to provide help as soon as they get you in the door. This is just the opinion of one disgruntled tenant and obviously other reviews say different things, but I stand by everything I’ve said here and want to warn any potential renters of the management of this place.
