Too Many "Stupid" Questions
I called the rental office after previously viewing an apartment--I had a few questions prior to making the leap of signing a year lease. Wow! You'd think I was asking for state secrets! "Sherry" was obnoxious, gave superficial answers to questions that I found important--I had noticed a cat urine smell in the hallway--I asked how they enforce people cleaning up after their cat. She deemed that question "stupid", and I said that prior to spending $1,100/mo., I'd like to know a few things. ... She said I wasn't going to be spending that, because she wasn't going to rent to me. Too many questions, wasting her time, and hung up. This is illegal--you can't just refuse to rent to someone because you don't like their questions. I tried other phone numbers associated with the company, and there was no response. I plan on calling Rhode Island Legal Services, and inquiring about my rights. This is not right, and I'm not going to let it go.
