*RESIDENTS, PLEASE BE AWARE!*
I signed a 6-month lease and ended up living there for about 9 months. Throughout my stay, I always paid via autopay and was up to date with my payments each month. My move-out date was August 6, 2024, and on August 5, 2024, I visited the office to settle my final balance. I was advised to pay $377.24, which covered six days of August along with charges for garbage, pest control, and other fees.
However, about five weeks after moving out, I received a letter from collections stating that I owe... $1,860.78.
I’ve tried contacting the management office multiple times, leaving two voicemails, but have yet to receive a single call back. I’m still waiting to speak with someone who can explain where these charges are coming from, considering I’ve always paid via autopay and made the final payment on August 5th for the six days I stayed in August.
I tolerated several issues during my stay because I knew it was a temporary situation. The apartment was infested with spiders and roaches. Management claimed they had sprayed and that it would take four weeks to resolve, but the pests never really went away. The air conditioning ran constantly but didn’t cool properly—despite multiple visits from maintenance, who claimed it was either low air or a thermostat issue. These were just band-aid fixes that didn’t solve the problem. The paint was poorly done with noticeable touch-ups when we moved in, but again, I didn’t push for repairs since this was only a temporary stay.
When visiting the management office, it was common to find no one there for extended periods, requiring multiple trips just to speak with someone. Now, despite calling three times and leaving messages twice in the last two weeks, I’m still waiting for a response.
