Going Downhill
We’ve lived here twice now—once when it was owned and
managed by NRP Group, and again since 2021. We moved in just before NRP sold it to new owners, and yes, in spite of the list of complaints below, do intend to stay, provided rent doesn’t skyrocket (and with the list of issues going on here, I’d say they would be hard-pressed to push for much more money with any justification, especially with so much competition in the area).
However, since NRP sold the building, it has taken a very sad turn... .
• They’ve already rotated through roughly three different apartment management companies and can’t seem to get their act together.
• Management is invasive – They’ll send a text message notice out at the end of the day that they’ll be coming into our apartments for full unit inspections of everyone’s units beginning the next day. That does NOT count as 24 hours’ notice—at best, it’s maybe 14. If you work from home or have a disability and can’t just make your space available, they will refuse to accommodate with an arranged time, or even narrow down a window of time that they will show up. I tried to ask them repeatedly (and couldn’t get through until several tries), was placed on hold several times throughout the call, and was told they couldn't help.
• Twice within a few months they've done 'audits' of the parking spaces, garages, and storage units. Why aren't records being kept straight?
• Giant hole in mail room ceiling from water damage left for months, which is still dripping water, “fixed” by stuffing plastic bags and paper towels in the hole.
• Parking garage not consistently cleaned/monitored and frequently has a non-functioning gate. It’s dirty, dusty, trashcans are either completely full or completely missing. No cameras. Calthemite build up in several areas of parking garage ceiling, which indicates structural degradation. Once had a paid spot in the garage (for an exorbitant fee, mind you), and almost immediately had a break in and had a dash cam stolen out of it (which had been hidden in center console), along with a cell phone charger.
• Non-paid parking availability is extremely limited. Often feel as though I can’t leave my apartment after 5 pm because parking will be gone and the alternative is to park on a busy street, very far away, where break-ins and thefts are a regular thing.
