Great Staff, Convenient Location, Iffy Charges
I had no issues interfacing with the staff on the floor at any point. The mail was easy to get to, the laundry rooms were usually very quickly if not immediately available, and any needed repairs were quick. One of the strings on my fan broke when just pulling the string and it costed $250 because they replaced the whole fan. I could have repaired it myself for just the cost of one part, but their reasoning made some sense and I wouldn't count that against them.
I had an easy time getting to... bus lines and onto the University of Washington campus and other locations (shops, restaurants, light rail) in quick time even when walking. For the most part the other residents are quiet with the occasional louder night - nothing crazy. It's a high traffic area and an older building, so some noise is to be expected. The units are in good shape and *some* of the kitchens have been updated. Look for one of the newer ones if possible.
The only major complaint I have is my move-out costs. They charged $200 dollars for a deep clean and another $200 for floor damage. I had expected losing some money as one of the cabinets with glass in it had been broken by a friend inadvertently, but my family and I cleaned the apartment before leaving (maybe could've used a sweep?) but nothing warranting a deep clean. Same with the floor - I still have no clue what the floor damages are. The move-out costs came way out of left field, but I had a very pleasant time for the rest of my (12 month) stay.
