Poor management, poor living experience
Unfortunately, this was far from the experience I was hoping for. I guess if I had to choose one issue, it was that management mentioned absolutely nothing prior to signing the lease regarding a massive construction project that directly affected our unit (given how large of a “project” this was, I find it hard to believe that Gaslight was unaware of this until a couple of weeks before it started, which is when they decided to notify residents), and offered no compensation for the months of... inconvenience — construction equipment overtaking our entire patio to the point we couldn’t use it, and workers routinely operating loud and odorous equipment directly outside of our windows/apartment before 8AM (including some Saturdays). Our patio furniture was moved to the side, our grill essentially inaccessible, while two massive pieces of construction equipment dominated the area. This project lasted much longer than expected, and despite this extended inconvenience, Gaslight offered nothing other than apologies for the “inconvenience.”
To touch on a few more things: The elevator was painfully slow. The toilet paper holder in my bathroom was broken upon move-in. Same for the wooden paneling underneath my bathroom sink. Management overcharged us on our ledger multiple times and took months/multiple emails and conversations to correct. My apartment key jammed every time I used it, and I would have to wiggle it multiple times before it worked. I asked for a replacement, so they cut me a new key with the exact same issues. They were really only on top of things that benefitted them - a dog visited our place once, and we received an automated message saying a “Dog Addendum” was added to our lease within the same day. I was also charged for a new garage door opener and key fob upon move-out, despite both still working when I returned them. When I reached out to management about this, I was gaslit and then ghosted. I could go on, but ultimately, this was an extremely underwhelming and disappointing living experience for a place that tries to sell itself as a luxury apartment. It’s a great location, but you can find a nicer place with better management for cheaper in the area.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts. While we understand your frustrations, we’d like to clarify a few points.
The construction project was essential maintenance that we communicated to residents as soon as the details were confirmed. We regret the... inconvenience it caused, but it was necessary to maintain the quality of our building.
Regarding the maintenance issues, including the slow elevator, bathroom fixtures, and key, we aim to resolve all reported problems as quickly as possible. If these issues persist, we encourage residents to keep us informed so we can address them promptly.
As for the move-out charges, all returned items are inspected thoroughly. If there was a misunderstanding or miscommunication, we’re open to discussing it further, but we stand by the accuracy of our records.
We aim to provide a high-quality living experience and are sorry we didn’t meet your expectations. We appreciate your feedback and are always looking for ways to improve.
