Horrible management

The management team is a complete joke. The refuse to take any responsibility. I’ve been asking for 5 months now to take care of disgusting amount of spiders that have taken over the buildings and they do nothing. They are on the buildings in the buildings on my vehicles in my vehicles.

Very Poor Rental Experience

My wife and I were some of the first tenants to move into The Mariner after construction of the first building in 2019. Unfortunately, despite the appearances of the apartments and the complex itself, we have almost nothing positive to say about our time there. For reference, we moved out after our first year due to the issues discussed below. Talking with many of our neighbors that moved out around the same time, it seems that these problems were not exclusive to us.

For starters, The...
Mariner is in a great location, close to the lake and downtown. Most of the office staff is very friendly, however, do not expect issues to be handled in a timely manner. For example, we waited over two months to receive the entirety of our security deposit after moving out, with almost no communication from the staff.

Our issues began before we even moved in, with construction delaying our move-in date by almost two months. During this time, The Mariner hardly contacted us to keep us informed as to the status of construction. We were promised a garage that "was so deep it could probably fit two cars," however, be warned that my mid-sized sedan hardly fit into the garage.

On their face, the apartments look very nice. However, the construction was clearly rushed, because the fit and finish is horrendous. The paint is incredibly thin and can be rubbed off with just a finger (you WILL damage the walls considerably with day-to-day activities). Trim pieces were left unpainted, or they slapped paint and caulk over any imperfection. The apartment layout (for our 1-bedroom) leaves very little usable space.

Our biggest problem, however, was the paper-thin walls. As others have mentioned, we could hear EVERYTHING that our downstairs neighbors were doing. Numerous times we had to visit them at midnight or later to ask them to turn down music or their television, because we could hear it in the bedroom. Additionally, we heard everything that happened outside of our window, from people talking to cars parking. As another example, we were woken up by the snow plows in winter every time they came through.

Other problems included the replacement of the sidewalk at least twice during our stay. This was disruptive, since the crews started jack-hammering at 7am and we had almost no warning from the staff. The included internet is nice, but be warned that we had numerous 1 and 2 day outages.
