ZERO STARS IF I COULD
I had a terrible experience with Carlton of Fort Myers, both while living there and after moving out. Recently, several wedding gifts were mistakenly delivered to our old address. We haven't been moved out for long so typically I'm sure this happens that something may get delivered to and old address. After calling the management, they confirmed that the packages were there and that we could pick them up. I explained that we were having a destination wedding and wouldn’t be able to pick them up... until after our trip. They assured us it would be fine, but when I went to collect the packages today after returning from our wedding and honeymoon, they magically disappeared. We literally have a voicemail from someone in their office confirming we have them. They claimed they sent them back to the sender, but I have not received any notifications from Amazon or any of our registry stores that they were returned. I shared this with them in person and showed them all of the proof I had and they said its on me that they got delivered there and they have no responsibility. They never called me to tell me they had my package or sent it back right away they chose to tell me they would hold them for us.
They offered no solution and at this point I feel as though they may have just been taken by either the staff or a resident. When you return an item to sender you get the tracking information, I do not have any record of that. Typically I would not make a big deal but these are our wedding gifts that family members purchased for us. It's disgusting that the carlton told us they have them and now they are just gone??
This isn’t the first time Carlton’s management has been shady with packages. Over the 2 1/2 years we lived there, they often claimed not to have our deliveries, despite tracking information showing they were delivered to the front office. Only after we pushed back would the packages suddenly appear. It’s incredibly frustrating and unprofessional.
Beyond the package issues, the living conditions were poor for the price. There’s absolutely no soundproofing, and you can hear everything—from neighbors using the bathroom to sneezing. It's not worth the high rent they charge. Save yourself the stress and look elsewhere!!!!
