Told Us Wrong Price and Kept Our Money
my friend and I walked in excited to apply. The office agent Justin told us that the application fee was $50 between the both of us and that we only had to pay $25 each. We thought that was amazing because other places charge at least $75 per person. He gave us a tour, we loved it. He said that we could apply on the computer in their office. I submitted my information first and I noticed it said $100. We asked him about it and he said it was wrong. He was certain it was and if we were approved... he would figure out how to give back the money in some way. My friend had not filled out her portion yet. He was also confused as to why it did not ask for her info. He then told us that we applied to an apartment that was not even for rent (This was just before I made my payment btw. Red Flag.) we ended up choosing one that was a little over our budget. My friend soon received an email allowing her to complete her portion... it also asked her for $100. We told him, after he came back from giving another family a tour. He was also shocked and confused and I insisted it was only $50 total and that the application was wrong. We paid $200 total that day (2/19/22). Today we got the email that were declined. We expected that because of some fraud that happened to my friend's account. That's not their fault. We were just hopeful because we had the money. Today I called to get my money back. They told us that we'd only be getting $100 back total and that we would be getting a money order (we paid with card). I asked her why we weren't getting $150 back? She said no, it's in writing that that what we charge $50 for the application fee and $50 for administrative per person. I understood but that's not what was advertised and were told that the writing was wrong even though we read it. she stated there was nothing she could do, no apology, and that Justin was wrong. My friend and I each lost $50. Don't rent here, the staff is not on the same page and it could cost you!
