Do Not Rent Here: Terrible Conditions and Management
The location and pricing initially attracted us to this apartment, especially since we had previously lived in another Sync property. However, after two years, the continued decline of the property made it clear that it was time to move.
Upon moving in, we found the unit was far from move-in ready. The floors were filthy, the blinds were covered in old dust, and the dishwasher filter was full of gunk and mold. We had to hire a professional cleaner at our own expense. While management did send... cleaners back after our complaint, it was too late as we had already addressed the issue ourselves.
Four months into our stay, we experienced a water leak from the kitchen wall that spread through the flooring near the dishwasher. Despite multiple calls to maintenance, the issue was initially ignored because they couldn't identify the source. It was later discovered to be a roof leak in the unit above us, which required over two weeks to fix. The entire ordeal lasted more than a month.
During the spring and summer, the bug infestation was horrendous. Despite being charged monthly for pest control, the treatments were ineffective. We had to take matters into our own hands by using bug traps and spraying around the unit to fend off wood ants and fire ants.
The property’s upkeep was disappointing. Dog poop was left scattered around despite frequent reminders from management to clean up after pets. Overflowing dog trash bins made the situation worse, creating a terrible smell, especially during the summer.
We also had persistent issues with leaking toilets, which required multiple visits from maintenance. The property appears to be deteriorating from within, likely due to water damage, as evidenced by the constant moisture smell that necessitated air purifiers.
The amount of police activity and random people walking around the property is very high, making it feel unsafe and unsettling.
The gated entrance was often broken, the trash chute was frequently out of order, and trash pickup was inconsistent, sometimes not happening at all.
Upon moving out, we were unfairly charged for "missing" items in the unit, despite having photos and videos taken on our move-out date that clearly showed these items were present. Management never responded to our emails providing this evidence.
Overall, I strongly advise against moving here. The management’s neglect and the property’s poor condition made our experience deeply unsatisfactory.
