Bugs

We had bugs right when we moved in. It was a few ants and I figured it was just because it’s summer. No. The ants grew and grew. It’s awful. They have pest control but like it doesn’t do anything. I literally clean ants all day here. It’s gross.

Run!!!Run!!!

This place is all false advertisements. It's not safe here first of security for nothing they sit there and watch people park all over the place and dont say anything. The place houses alot of low income which is ok but..... alot of them are filthy on several occasions I find used condoms and dirty empty beer cans everywhere. This place has a major major major cockroach infestation. I've spent hundred on cleaning and bug people and I'm still losing to the iij infestation. Now let's gets to the... maintenance. Broken fridge leaking everywhere.. you call them they look at the problem and then say ok its fixed... Guess what right now my fridge is still leaking. So now, you think "call them back", I've called them 5 times and nothing has been done. I'm currently living here because I'm stuck in this one year contract. But when it's over I'm running out of here... Please dont let the people who take you on a tour let u think that the place is great its horrible.. front office is nice to you till you sign the lease.. Dont live here I promise you won't regret it if you just walk away.

Dangerous place to live

Neighbors have no courtesy for your parking. Charge u for everything ridiculously. Renewing the lease it goes up another 300-400. This place has nice maintenance people but that’s about it. Mail was tampered with. Vehicle vandalized on two separate occasions. It’s a straight up money pit. Such a bad experience living there. I’m so happy I moved up out of there! ITS A TRAP ! Definitely not a safe place to live. (Funny people after night fall)

NO GOOD! Look somewhere else!

Our small family would love to believe that this apartment meet our needs(centralized location) despite the high price rent. To our disappointment, not very safe to live in. You can smell marijuana being used throughout the day despite keeping your doors closed. Often, you can smell & see urine inside the elevator and on the stairs which often takes forever to be cleaned up. That very same elevator got broken multiple times. Very noisy kids in the playground from daytime even up to past midnight... . Security guards very mean to kids. My kid and his friend won’t even go to the playground because they’re afraid of the security guard yelling at kids. There’s plenty bystanders smoking beside your car. 1 small parking that barely fit your car. Your parking that’s located too far from your unit and while you’re in a rush/ try to park on your stall, there’s somebody else using your parking. Your car will end up being towed if you park on somebody else parking slot. Management says they don’t guarantee your safety! Why need security guards then?! There’s a lot of cases of units being broken into. A lot of green trash bins have dumped trash around them and if you’re lucky those trash are gonna fly to your car. There’s a huge cockroach problem in the building despite trying to clean the house. Spent a lot of pest control products but unsuccessful to eradicate roaches. Everything inside the apartment are cheaply made. Within the first week, not even touching it, a lot of blinds came off because of the wind. Toilet bowl and kitchen sink being clogged often. Kitchen sink and bathtub drain got clogged and backed up dirt from other units. Lights won’t turn on despite new bulbs. Laundry and dryer are small and you have to go to leasing office to load your laundry card. Only to find out that all dryer and washers are all taken. No loyalty to fAithful residents. Yearly rent increase and you’ll find out that your rent is even higher than your neighbors despite staying here longer. Management looks down on you and very sassy when u make reasonable request. They only take action when you threaten to leave them. Before signing that contract, think again! You’ll be devastated and stressed for all the repairs, cleanliness and safety issues you’ll encounter. A lot of our neighbors left, knowing that they just moved in. We only stayed because we got tied up from that same contract you are about to sign!

These 5 star reviews cant be real...

Im inclined to believe that all the 5 star reviews are written by the "lovely" ladies in the office, because living here was the worst experience i've ever had. The team in the office would almost always treat you as an inconvenience, but would at least TRY to help you. But with Kuini, you would have to repeat your question multiple times before she finally understood what you were asking, all the while she would be giving a sassy tone, and be talking down to you. If it weren't for her, the... office would be at least a little bit pleasant.
That being said, the main issue with Waena Apartments is the security, or lack thereof. My unit was broken into, and the woman that came to do the report (the security team is nice, just a bit lazy) said that 3 houses had been broken into within the past week. Which would be easier for me to understand, if they would actually lock the gates. they would leave the front gate (facing mayor wrights) open 24 hours, and some of the doors along the perimeter that required a FOB to open, were broken for months at a time so people could freely walk around the apartments. These problems stacked on parking issues, loud neighbors, dogs howling in units, price hikes in rent, and being nickel-and-dime'd out of most of your security deposit (pay for every cheap blind that breaks off of its little clip, most of which broke off within a week of being there) i just think for the price of these units, it would be easy to find something in a better location, with less hassle.

This isn't the rant of a disgruntled ex-tenant, i just want you to know that you cant buy in to the ratings for this complex, it definitely isn't 5 stars. You've been warned haha
