Roach Infestation
Writing this because I wish there had been a recent review before I signed a lease here. If you're considering moving in (especially if you fear bugs), read this:
The only thing I can truly speak to is the cockroach problem I experienced.
Before signing, I searched everywhere for reviews mentioning pests but found only old ones, so I thought it was under control. I asked Bry, the property manager, about pests, and she said they had no issues, which I now doubt. I even hired my own pest control... service biweekly.
When I did a walkthrough, the maintenance guy was scraping caulk from the baseboards, likely used by the previous tenant to fill gaps. I noticed a tiny bug near an outlet covered with tape, presumably to stop cockroaches. My stomach dropped as I realized they had been dealing with cockroaches.
I had already signed the lease, so I had the apartment cleaned and pest control come before moving in, hoping the baby cockroach I saw was a one-off. It wasn't.
My first night, I saw a cockroach with no food in the apartment. After that, they appeared everywhere: in the bathroom, on kitchen cabinets, walls, clothes, and even an empty fridge. Centipedes followed, attracted to the cockroaches. I was terrified and barely living in an apartment I paid for, constantly spraying insecticides and using peppermint oil to deter them. I even showered at the gym daily to avoid attracting them with water.
I wish I had seen a review like this before signing the lease and hope it helps someone else!
