Poorly Constructed Nightmare

Do not be fooled by the pretty lounge in the lobby. This building is an utter disappointment. It is incredibly poorly constructed. There is zero soundproofing. You can hear EVERYTHING through the ceilings and walls.

If you are unlucky and have upstairs neighbors who blast their sound system, yell constantly, slam objects on the floor at all hours, and allow their two energetic 75-pound dogs to trample like horses all day long, JVM property management won't do a single thing to stop the...
madness.

JVM property management insisted that I call the police to deal with the noise disturbances, and when I called the police, the neighbors started retaliating and pounding on my ceiling between 2:00 a.m. and 3:00 a.m.

Since then, the police have been called on multiple occasions, and they even cited the unruly neighbors for violating the noise ordinance, but instead of evicting the tenants who are menace, JVM prefers to continue to collect rent.

Uptown is a sham. You will pay an exorbitant amount of money to live here, but the services are not commensurate with what you are expected to pay. They do not have 24-hour concierge services, so if you have a noise disturbance outside of business hours, there is no one to call but the police. Even if you call the office during business hours, you will have to call numerous times before someone answers the phone. JVM property management refuses to staff the building properly.

But wait, there's more.

The building is so poorly constructed that ants started crawling through the baseboards by my windows a few weeks ago. I had to seal all the cracks myself because I discovered the problem on a Sunday when there's no maintenance staff on-site.

The poor construction goes even further. There is no weather insulation, so you have to run the inefficient heat system all day and night during the winter. Also, there's a small capacity in-unit water heater that runs on electricity and adds a fortune to your electricity bill.

This is hands-down the WORST residential experience of my life, and it's even more infuriating when you factor in how much I'm paying for this sham.

Amazing!

The staff in the office and the maintenance are the best. Any time I have questions about my apartment or need repairs they are quick to get me all the answers and repairs I need. The team here has such a positive attitude and they are so welcoming. I highly recommend visiting and seeing the property if you are looking for a comfortable community

OVERPRICED

Moving out soon. They sell you on amenities but they aren’t worth it. Apartments are loud and not well built.Rent a house or something in city is nicer.

FIVE STAR community!

We love this brand new FIVE STAR community! From owning a condo in the heart of the city to now leasing at Uptown La Grange, this is the best decision we have made. The property is kept clean by Max and Sylvia who do an exceptional job in keeping this place spotless. The neighbors are nice and everyone on staff is amazing! Stephanie, Nathan, Jake, Luco and Mike are all very professional, doing a superb job at managing, taking care of the residents and being kind. The leasing team genuinely... cares in finding the perfect home for you. We enjoy the beautiful amenities, super fun events hosted by staff and complimentary Starbucks coffee in the mornings. The building is extremely well maintained by Noah and Jerry who do quality work and are very friendly. The walk to everything location is fantastic! We see so many young professionals in the building, doctors, nurses, teachers, families with children like us, pet owners, singles and couples. Such a lovely community! Uptown is a beautiful, quiet and safe place to call home. We are so happy to be staying for another year!
