Affordable, Well Maintained, Great Management

I’ve lived here since last year and I have loved it. Management is very responsive and flexible. Apartments are in very good shape and well maintained. Rent is very affordable, and you only pay for electric and internet. Washer and dryer in-unit are well functioning. Lots of storage space and walk-in closet is quite spacious for one person. Sound does not travel very much between units. Parking lots have large individual spaces and I have never had issues finding a spot near my unit. I would... absolutely keep living here if I weren’t moving out of state.

Unit is fine. Management is checked out.

I've lived here for almost a year. The property is new, unit is easy to maintain, and the community is quiet. This is a no frills apartment complex - no pool, gym, etc.
However, W&D are included in the units. The price for this area is reasonable, too. I like the design, with a room to work and eat, and a space separating the bedroom from the work area.
So, why did I give it three stars?

There's a lack of initiative in the management. I'm not sure if this is because they're short on staff,...
but there's definitely a detached attitude each time I've called with a concern.
Without going into too much detail, there was an emergency two months ago, and I called the 24/7 number. The person on the phone was very helpful, but told me "no one at the property is picking up the phone" - after hours of waiting, I ended up spending the $$$ to resolve the issue myself. This is not the first time I've been directed to figure it out myself - from light fixtures to changing the air filter to other maintenance issues. I have no problem doing it on my own, but will probably just buy a home if that is going to be the case. :)

Affordable and Adorable

I love living at Apartment on Sixth. I'm so close to I70 which makes my drive to work in Topeka super easy! The apartments are new with my own washer and dryer. Management is so helpful and fast to respond. So glad I chose this place over the others I looked at in this area.

Depends on your lifestyle

Apartments are new and fine for 1 person. Dont expect any amenities. Washer & dryers are in each unit. I reported my dryer not working property when i moved in, 1 year later its still not fixed. The kitchen sink has no sprayers so make sure you hit the drain. If you like to cook,be prepared for a smoky environment as there are no range hoods. The most recent despicable encounter was arriving home after being a patient in the hospital to find my car gone. I called the local police dept to report... it stolen only to find out the apartment complex had it towed because it was parked on a white line in a designated parking spot. They also alleged the car was not properly tagged or had insurance. I've had this car for 15 yrs and its always been tagged and full coverage insurance, but they wouldn't known this because they never bothered to call or even ask. 315.00$ later i have my car back. If you are a senior person forget about them checking on your well being. They are quick however to notify you if your payment is even 1 day late or not for the correct amount. Spend the extra 100.00$ and find something better

Good Experience Turned Bad

The apartments on sixth street are nice for one person, however, my apartment has had a horrific bug problem. On a daily basis I am finding huge centipedes and other insects. I have complained to management and the issue hasn't stopped. Along with this, the management is less than average. Overall, again the apartment is fine for one person, but nothing special, and the issue with the bugs has completely changed my opinion.
