Would avoid if possible

Comments after living here 2022-December 2024:
Overall the best description is, Meh.
Decent price for apartment and management was responsive. Not overly nice or mean at all. You could usually count on them to help you.
Issues:
1. Mail room. This is probably the worst mail room I’ve ever seen in my life. At one point I just gave up on buying stuff online. So many packages lost. If you buy anything online for your piece of mind do not move here. Mailroom is a nightmare. (Ps. It’s not like they...
don’t have money. They spent hundreds of thousands redoing a perfectly normal parking lot instead of fixing the mailroom. They just don’t care) for months we never received packages from USPS because of some feud between the complex and The United States Postal Service!!! When I say if you buy stuff online then don’t move here I mean it.

2. Really terrible windows! I had an outdoor fly infestation because The windows would never seal properly and on average I would pay almost $500 for an electric bill throughout the winter. (Heat set at 72°) also the apartment never got warm. We had to wear jackets inside every day. They kept saying they would fix it over the course of two years and promises broken They never fixed it.

3. Really bad “updates”. The up charge for their updated apartments like crazy and whoever designed them should probably see a doctor. Simple things like instead of getting new cabinet doors for the elongated food pantry they just screwed together two old doors. Also other oversights like choosing faucets that are entirely too small for the sinks in the bathroom so whenever you wash your hands, you’re smashing them against the sink wall just to be able to get your hands wet.

4. In comparison to other apartments in the area, they have really really bad apartment layout and minimal closet space. This is for people that are renting 2+ bedrooms. The apartment feels very cramped.

5. The gym is really nice but always smells like terrible B.O! Like really really bad. I guess a ventilation problem? Idk

Overall, if you need a place to live, it’s not bad. It’s pretty clean and you the basic amenities are available. But if your budget allows there are definitely wayyyy nicer places in OP for the same price. Apartments across the street and all over the area.

Property Manager at Lexington Farms responded to this review

Thank you for your detailed feedback. We apologize for the issues you encountered during your living experience. We do our best to ensure the mailroom is up to par; however, there are times during peak delivery seasons when an influx of packages... arrive for residents. We send out notifications to ensure residents retrieve their packages to prevent an overflow in the mailroom. Additionally, we regularly maintain the property and on-site amenities with routine cleaning and repairs. If you wish to discuss your concerns regarding your move-out, please contact us.

Poor Living Investment

The management/office staff at this facility is a joke. Poorly trained, not informed, not helpful, will not allow you to speak to the property owner, and are in charge of things they should not be.

The move in process was rushed and not thorough. We were not shown the amenities, (pool wasn't even open for the beginning of the summer), was not explained to about the utilities, and were not welcomed. Paid an extra application fee that took 3-4 months to reappear as a credit ONLY AFTER I continued...
bringing it up via email. It did not feel like we were wanted as tenants.

We paid on time every month and were model tenants. No complaints on us; we were not a burden. The property was fine for the area, but still overcharged for rent.

The move out process is a joke. All they will do is overcharge you and make claims about your residence's condition that have no standing. No willingness to help you or be reasonable. Only there to make a buck. Charge for a carpet cleaning/steaming when it was not necessary. Claimed we had a pet that contributed to the need to clean...we never owned a pet.

Please do rent from this apartment complex if you wish to avoid being overcharged, having incompetent front office staff, having terrible management, and all procedures/tours/information not explained and being given informed disclosure on their policies and procedures. All of this only serves THEM. They are NOT in the business of serving their loyal tenants.

DO NOT LIVE HERE! New ownership has ruined this place

Lexington Farms used to be great, and then two or three years ago, ownership changed hands and it has been gone downhill since then.

The biggest negative is the people working in the front office. The old staff was helpful and courteous. The new staff that replaced them is oftentimes very rude like they can't be bothered to do anything.

Oh, and don't ask for a manager. They avoid speaking with tenants at all costs.

The other big problem is how the property is maintained. In the last three...
years, we've had issues with:

-AC unit that collects water
-Leaking roof that required multiple days of repairs to fix our ceiling
-Leaking plumbing that required multiple days of repairs
-Air quality issues; the old staff routinely sent a maintenance person out to change filters and check the HVAC whereas now it's a hit-and-miss type of service
-Unexpected/unscheduled maintenance

Also, this summer the pool was unavailable for at least a month or so because they waited until June to address repairs. This literally never happened with prior management.

Essentially, everything has gotten worse since new management has taken over, and yet, rent continues to go up and up.

Zero stars!

I would give Lexington Farms a zero star review if I could. I loved living there during my first year as a resident. Shortly after I renewed my lease, the ownership changed, and Sentinel took over as the new property manager. Everything changed from night to day. The property was unkept and grass had grown over a foot tall within weeks. My air conditioner unit went out so I was without air-conditioning for two weeks in the beginning of the summer. The trash compactor was always broken and built... up and the dog park gate was broken for a while. The amenities that I loved like the pool and pool deck was unusable for an entire season and the pool was green. Reading the reviews it looks like the summer of 2023 started off the same. The property manager was never available and had a closed door policy at best. This was not my experience when Northpoint was the property manager. The clubhouse used to be a welcoming environment. Near the end of the lease I had financial difficulties and applied for the rental assistance program. The office was aware of this yet continued with threatening eviction and letters. Since I’ve moved out, they sent the balance to collections. What was once a beloved and proud community to live in, is now one of the worst and I would never recommend that anybody sign a lease.
