Stay Away

While living at Mitchell's Park Apartments I had great neighbors and the apartments themselves were ok.

The management is the WORST I've ever had to deal with, and I would highly advise anyone to stay away from this place.

Maintenance just came into my apartment one day while I was showering with no notice. They wanted to paint the ceiling from a previous repair and when I said something to the property manager she told me it was an "emergency".

When I moved out they charged for things that...
were absolutely inaccurate. The carpet was clean with minimal wear and tear but they charged me to carpet the entire place. There was a dent on the fridge from them moving it in and I was charged the entire amount. The closets were broken when I moved in, so we put the doors in the back of the closet with the hardware, but I was charged for all of that, even though they had it.
The list goes on and on.

Speaking to former residence and other companies "Nexus" is terrible for doing this to people to pocket money.

Bug infestation

I lived there for a year and a half and all the hot months flies would enter the apartment constantly. Everyday I would kill 6 to 7 flies. When I brought it to the management twice, they blamed me. I had to suffer with ants coming under the carpet into the apartment. Along with all kinds of bugs that would enter as well. Absolutely disgusting and they did not care. Ants, spiders, roaches, flies big and small. There were holes on the siding so speculation from non-apartment provided bug... exterminators that animals had gone inside and died which is the cause of the constant flies. I have pictures of everything. Absolutely mentally and physically harmful to live in such conditions.

Poor Maintenance & Management

I had an ongoing leak in the master bathroom from my neighbor’s upstairs bathtub that started the second week I moved in. A plumber was never called. Dehumidifiers were never placed to remove moisture. Once, the leak started on a Sunday morning. I called maintenance and was told they needed to contact their boss to see if they had to come over, or if it could wait until the next day (it is law that maintenance come and address any water leaks when they are called in as it is a safety issue).... They did end up coming, but just notified my neighbor upstairs not to use their shower until they could look at the leak the next day. They poked holes in the ceiling, but did not put anything in the bathroom to help with moisture. The leak eventually became so bad, water splashed from the tub, pooling on the floor, and soaking the carpet in the room on the other side. Management had to be asked twice to check the carpet and address the leak.

Six months into my lease, I began hearing scurrying in my ceiling. Where maintenance had poked holes in the ceiling for the leak, a small, whiskered face was chewing the ceiling. I immediately called maintenance to report the issue. Maintenance came over, but never removed the squirrel. They looked for exterior entry points, but never located the exact point of entry.

They refused to work with an exterminator who would remove the squirrels. They worked with Permakill who, I was told, does not remove squirrels. I was informed that the building management could only monitor the situation while trying to set outdoor traps and use a mild deterrent. The manager told me that they believed the squirrels had babies, which is why it was so loud, and the best solution was to let the babies grow to the point their mom would lead them out.

The only solution I was offered was to be let out of my lease with no fee. This left me having to find a new apartment, paying new deposit fees, and putting me in a difficult financial position to move. Upon moving, an inspection was done where they claimed stains on the carpet was pet urine. When I asked how that was determined, I was told by smell and visual overview from them. It was my word against theirs, and they charged me my entire security and pet deposit ($900) plus an additional $50 to replace the carpet.

I understand this all may sound dramatic and exaggerated. I assure you, it is not. I have photos and videos to prove what occurred, as well as email exchanges with the property manager.

Best Apartment I've Had!

My husband and I moved into one of the 2 bed 2 bath apartments in 2017, and we just renewed for one more year. Never thought we would be in an apartment this long, but life happens! We could not be happier with where we've been able to call home for 4 years. The apartment itself is decent sized, the bedrooms and closets are great. The kitchen is, well, an apartment kitchen. But living and dining spaces are nicely sized as well. Maintenance at this place is AMAZING. They are super quick to... respond, very efficient, and very friendly. The office staff has changed numerous times since we've been here, so I don't have much to say about any of them. But anytime I've had any sort of issue, whoever the office staff has been, has taken care of things quickly. All of our neighbors are very friendly, there are dogs EVERYWHERE! Which we love, because we have 2 beagles. The complex is kept pretty nice and clean as well. I really do love it here, and it will be bittersweet next year when we leave our apartment to start a life in a house!

SCAM will take your money!

This apartment has over charged me for everything for over two years. When I finally got out they sent a bill for $1200 for the carpet....for normal use. It's just wrong to do to hardworking people. I'm reporting to better business. DO NOT RENT HERE!!!
