great!

Residing at Princeton place has been great so far! The apartments themselves are very clean and spacious. Having a washer and dryer in the unit was a big selling point for me. The staff are very responsive and always super helpful. Recently had an issue with my dishwasher and w/ in a few days they were at my apartment replacing it. Maintenance and groundkeepers do an exceptional job from landscaping during the summer to plowing during winter months. The grounds are very nice with great... landscaping, ample parking, and amenities such as a pool, tennis court, and gym. Its location is perfect as it is close to Umass if you work there and a short drive to the downtown area of Worcester.

Top 5 reasons not to choose Princeton Place

1. much more expansive than others apartments nearby;
2. Noisy: workers mow the lawn every morning and trains are running day and early night;
3. Mean manager and staff, do not believe their fake smile;
4. You are stuck once you sign a contract. They charge your very high lease break fee (2-4 months) no matter how long you have lived there;
5. Vert slow maintenance.It took 3 weeks to repair a broken shelf on fridge door.

Decent locale and well-maintained property, but expect 5 - 7% rent hikes per year

Generally, apartments are spacious and the property is well-maintained. The exercise room and other amenities are nice, and package pick-up is very convenient.

Our biggest surprise has been that lease terms are somewhat more unfriendly than other places where we've lived. We experienced a rent increase of 5 - 7% after our first year, and were informed by management that such an increase is typical for every year. This seems quite a bit higher than the market rates in Worcester. Our guess is...
their strategy is to try to milk tenants for an increase knowing that many would prefer not to move out. Also unusual is that tenants don't have a good option of paying month-to-month rent after their first year, as the month-to-month rent is $200 higher than on a lease. So the only option you have, if you don't want your rates to go up significantly after your first year, is to sign a very long (18 month ) renewal lease, which isn't very convenient for younger families looking for more flexibility.

If you're looking for a decent place to live near Union Station with reasonable amenities and a nice neighborhood, you can't go wrong, but just be aware of what you may be signing up for if you are planning to stay long term.

excellent locale good management

Apartments are close to many restaurants and bars etc...Shrewsbury street. Management seems to be alert and aware of issues with units. You might have to nag them a bit to get things done quickly, hut generally they are good at keeping your issues at bay. Parking and safety / security is unsurpassed as so far as I have seen. Private parking and generally a feeling of safety any time day or night. Has small gym and swimming pool for hot months, which comes in handy. Proximity to highways,... 290, 114, etc are all within a few min drive as well as downtown. UMass hospital campus literally minutes away. Little cold in winter time and to keep warmer costs a pretty penny, but generally excellent place to rent.
