Best Apartment Community I Have Ever Lived In
I enjoyed the following living here from 2016 to 2019:
1) The best location in Detroit - Walk to work and goodbye to your commute and the wasted hours each week in traffic. Want to go to Canada? Just take the Tunnel Bus down the street. Greektown, Campus Martius, the Riverwalk, Hart Plaza and the Cobo Center are right at your doorstep! I also felt safe here.
2) Great amenities - The best amenity is having the Millender Center People Mover stop right in the building. The Sky Club is amazing with... gorgeous views. The indoor lap and gym are both very nice. The City Market is very beneficial. The rooftop has one of the best views in Detroit.
3) Excellent service - In my experience, this is ultimately the factor that makes or breaks the living experience in any community. Caitlin in the leasing office is a phenomenal professional. We had layoffs at my company and by my planning in advance of my renewal, she helped me with a month-to-month option. One summer my central AC unit died. Within a few hours, they brought temporary window units to my apartment until they could get it fixed. The other huge asset to their team is Roger, one of the front desk concierges. This man is an expert on Detroit and he gave me a lot of advice on safety in the city and things going on.
4) Transportation and parking benefits - I mentioned the People Mover access above, but the new SMART express buses pick up within a block on Jefferson. The QLine is only a few blocks away. If you working for some preferred employers downtown, they will even pay for your parking at Renaissance City.
5) Community events - There is a great sense of community at RCA and it's pretty diverse in ages and backgrounds. The management also do a great job creating changes to mingle with movie nights, card games, Monday Night Football on the big screen on the rooftop, July 4th fireworks and the monthly events in the Sky Club.
Is Renaissance City perfect? No. But it's pretty close to it and it's the best place I have ever lived. Yes, it's on the expensive side but you get what you pay for from a location and amenities perspective. That's the cost of living in a booming downtown Detroit and not having to spend 2 hours of your day in traffic. If you like urban living and want the best community in the CBD, you will not find a better community.
