Great apartment, old building

I’ve lived here for two years, and I’ve mostly enjoyed it here. 1 free underground parking spot in the heated garage, a storage locker large enough to fit a kayak, modern appliances, HVAC unit for every apartment (and it works great), so close to the park and the property’s full of old growth trees! Plus, maintenance works to fix issues within the first day or two of an issue being reported, and the sound proofing between the walls is awesome.

All that said, it does have quirks I wish I could...
change. Biggest one is the plumbing and pipes. Greasy food down the garbage disposal clogs the kitchen plumbing for every apartment vertically (disposal from 300 is connected to 200 and 100), can clog under the first floor apartment, and cause kitchen sink wastewater to back flow into the apartments. In the two years I’ve lived on the first floor, I’ve had this issue five times. When I moved in, I noticed the wood floors in the kitchen were warped—I can’t prove that this was caused by past water overflow, but I’m fairly certain that’s what occurred. (Side note, the apartment will pay for any flooding damage and any cleaning services required afterwards)

The other issues are much smaller. Almost every cabinet drawer in the kitchen and bathroom has cracks or hot glue fixes, although they do work well. The pantry is so long, the refrigerator only opens 80% of the way. Porcelain in the bathroom appliances is chipped and cracked, and the toilet’s “low flow” replacement mechanisms cause it to refill the tank twice an hour, although perhaps those are expected in an older apartment.

Again, I’ve enjoyed my time here. The proximity to the park, the appliances, the floor space, and all the storage are wonderful. It’s hard to beat.

Super location

I moved to Bristol Village in February to be close to family and love having Highland Lake Park reserve as my back yard! It's conveniently located near many of my favorite businesses and freeway connections.
The apartment building is surprisingly quiet and has the diverse population I was seeking. Pets and children are welcome.
New management is making a difference in the complex, with ongoing updates to many of the apartments. The current maintenance crew is top notch, addressing requests...
promptly and with quality workmanship.
Prospective renters should lock in the rent, as it fluctuates daily based on market conditions. Tour your rental property with an eagle eye to note any maintenance issues they should address before you move in. Be aware that some parking garage spaces are difficult to maneuver, so request to see which space you'll be assigned.
I'm looking forward to using the outdoor pool and entertainment area this summer. We've been exploring the Highland Lake park trails and my grandkids can't get enough of chutes and ladders playground.

Deposit - Application Fee

I put in an application fee and also a $250 deposit. I also paid an application fee for the person I was going to be sharing the apartment with. We decided the same day not to continue the application and only put in my application. It has been 2 weeks and even though they said they would refund the deposit I have yet to see it. And even though I paid for 2 applications and only submitted 1 application they are not refunding the second application fee. Based on this treatment I would not... even apply at this community.

This place is a joke.

They have been doing construction through the duration of my stay. The new renovations are aesthetically pleasing but very cheaply made. Things have already broke in my apartment with minimal or no use. They don't inform you of when construction is occurring and where so there are randomly things are not no longer accessible to you for long periods of time with no warning or no time frame. For example, they were constructing the gym for two months with no known end date and when it was finally... finished, they wouldn't give me a fob to enter it. I went to the leasing office at least 5 times before they gave me one. The last two times I went, I was met with attitude from the secretary and the manager. Today, they started repaving our parking lot yet no one who wasn't parked there was advised so we just can't use the parking lot for an undefined amount of time? Furthermore, it took them two weeks to get us a mailbox key and four weeks (and three attempts) to get a working garage door opener. They have messy old furniture and dumpsters everywhere (in the garage, parking lot, etc.). They have huge dumpsters in the garage and in almost every parking lot but they don't inform you which ones are for your use or the construction companies use. This is a horrible value for the money and they have the WORST customer service.

Loud, very loud

If you are looking for a town home, do yourself a favor and look some place else. The town homes at Bristol Village are very poorly constructed and you neighbor's slightest footsteps will reverberate like a herd of elephants. These "town homes" are stacked like apartments so you will have neighbors above/below and to the sides. Your neighbor's garage will be up against your living room so enjoy hearing them come, go, and play their car stereo.

The nice and friendly management discussed in...
other reviews was bought out recently by Pinnacle management. Other problems I have encountered include my garage door breaking in the first month of residence, poor insulation causing large heating bills, and extreme lack of any parking.

If you value peace and quiet then please stay far far away from Bristol Village.
