Bad for Restful Sleep
If I'd known better, I would have shelled out for the upstairs unit or picked somewhere else. First, don't bother living here if you're a light sleeper. The AC units are inconveniently directly outside the first floor master bedrooms for all units on your side of the building. Yes, that's right - 4 AC units within 10 feet of your bedroom window. My watch regularly registers over 100db of noise in the middle of the night. In addition, the Phase 1 units have concrete pads beneath the AC units that... transfer vibrations to the master bedroom wall whenever the AC is on. This alone makes getting good sleep very difficult. Secondly, the parking lots are extremely well lit at night, to the point where additional blackout curtains are a necessity. And thirdly, most units are a hardwood style laminate throughout (which is generally nice), but unfortunately there are no stipulations in the lease that require upstairs neighbors to put down area rugs to dampen noise. This unfortunate combination means I've had to resort to both sleeping earplugs and an eye mask to get consistent, uninterrupted sleep. Overall, it's just not worth it.
