early gentrification

the good:
the apartments are reasonably clean (mine has water damage upon moving in but isnt a deal breaker), staff is friendly and maintenance has been very helpful the few times ive needed to interact with them, lax rules on pets makes owning a pet more reasonable than elsewhere, the gym is very nice, laundry in unit is awesome, appliances are stainless steel and very nice as well

the bad:
the lax rules on pets means im often listening to large dogs barking for hours on end, tenants dont...
really care if their pets use the bathroom indoors (the hallways often smell like dog urine), within 3 months of starting my lease there were 2 vehicle break-ins (including my own), parking is expensive and handled by a 3rd party who is only available for 2 days out of the week, my bathroom smells like cigarettes when the neighbors smoke

renting at urby is getting early in the gentrification of stapleton. the price is far too high for the area, and while the units themselves are fairly nice and the amazon lockers are a luxury, your money is better spent elsewhere. there are more large apartment buildings going up in the area; i can only imagine what rent is going to look like in a few years time.

Urby is Life!

Who knew Staten Island had gems like this!? Can't wait for the shops to open, rumor has it there will be a taco spot with an arcade! Living at Urby you will always have something to do. Go to the gym... go to events... chill at the fire pit. Eat awesome burgers. The list goes on people!
Love. It. Here.

Water views and Nearly Free Commute

I have lived here for a year and the building is lively and full of action. The building is modern and offers a lot of amenities such as a gym, a pool, underground parking, bicycle storage. They have cooking classes and there's even a farm which is pretty cool. Each unit comes with a washer/dryer and maintenance works hard to address your concerns. I work in the Financial District so getting to work is easy and almost free. I used to live in New Jersey so I don't miss being packed on the train... during rush hour.
