poor management and maintenance
I recently moved in to what I was told would be a first floor unit and on the day I collected my keys I was then told it was a basement unit. Not entirely an issue until I moved in and found the unit to be so poorly sealed that the humidity inside nearly matched the outside. The A/C can barely keep up cooling the apartment because of its age and whenever a work order is placed to repair issues with it maintenance will take up to a week to respond. Obvious issues are met with disinterest as the... HVAC is “working” not addressing any of the actual issues. I also have a “renovated” unit but be aware this means a few new appliances some nice countertops, floors and bad paint jobs while leaving gaps in the drywall big enough to put your arm through letting in unconditioned hot/humid air into your unit and an ancient HVAC. The outlets are so old they can barely hold what is being plugged into them so everything keeps falling out. I have seen more people move out than move in and I’m not surprised as I recently found out someone has lived in their unit without a working AC for over a month and are still awaiting their unit to be repaired. They would much rather focus on quickly painting the units to re-rent.
