Liars. Plain and simple.
It can be difficult to find an apartment in Columbus with less than perfect credit so when I found this place with low rent and a decent location, I jumped right on it. Now I'm regretting that decision for the following reasons:
I asked several times upon move in if the unit I would be getting had a dishwasher. I wasn't given a straight answer until I was actually there signing my lease and at that point, it was too late to find something else when I was told I would be getting an apartment... without the amenity yet I would still be charged the same amount regardless of whether or not I had one.
There are stray cats everywhere that the apartment complex seemingly refuses to deal with. In order to rid the neighborhood of them, I, personally, had to pick them up and take them somewhere.
A few months into living there, a neighbor's unit got broken into and their television stolen.
Maintenance entered my home without notice on one occasion that I know of.
The staff does not return calls or emails and even told me that they purposely did not answer my phone calls on one occasion.
I was charged a pet fee even after my cat left the premises because apartment staff forgot to record this. This charge was later removed after a complaint to the apartment manager. However, I was told that the month the cat was only there half of the time would not be prorated.
I was told by the apartment manager since the day I moved in that if I ever needed to be late on rent for whatever reason, I could let him know and they would work something out with me. The one time I had to utilize this was the same month my lease was coming to an end. My emails, phone calls, and voicemails went unanswered and an eviction was filed on the 14th, a day before I had indicated it would be paid.
The apartment manager refused to give me receipts of my payments and neglected to submit documentation in a timely manner even after reassuring me it would be done.
Maintenance and office staff openly complained to me, the resident, about apartment manager's negligence involving important matters.
They tried to charge me another month's rent even after I moved out and turned in my keys.
I fear that I will not receive security deposit in retaliation even though maintenance praised me for the great condition I left the apartment in.
