Close to everything yet nestled away
A small-scaled property, my complex is inhabited by a cross-section of students and older people alike. The location is terrific, just five minutes from downtown, across from a university and close to grocery stores and the SoCo (South Congress Street) strip lined with nice restaurants, bars, thrift shops and (my personal favorite) a popular karaoke bar. Under new ownership for the last few months, the property owners have made considerable improvements to the site: Tiled stairwells, lush... landscaping, renovate decks, revamped lighting, new exterior paint, a privacy fence encircling the complex, and renovated units. People seem happy to live here; two of my neighbors and I have a three-person library of sorts as we exchange books we believe the other might enjoy. It's that kind of place, its smaller size creating a close-knit community feel. Despite its proximity to the central business district, it's quiet and peaceful. My own satisfaction as a resident is manifested by the plethora of plants on my porch that other residents have complimented.
