Worst Experience Ever

Multiple times throughout the 1 year we lived there our apartment developed mold in the walls of both restrooms. Once when they came to fix it, they cut a hole in the wall of the master bathroom about 2 ft high and 3 ft wide behind the toilet to drain the water out of the wall. We called multiple times and it took them 2 months to come back and patch the wall. The mold continued to grow back. It was so bad that the walls were sagging.

The air conditioning sucks because the apartments were...
built in the 80's so my husband and I set up a portable air conditioner to keep cool during hot summer days but the complex saw that we had set it up (they must have seen the exhaust set up on the window) and they called us and told us that we had to take it down.

The appliances are extremely old. The oven is a drop-in so it is tiny and would leak hot air into our apartment so when you were standing in front of it the steam would burn your leg. The fridge we had never kept cool and they kept telling us it was our fault and that we were putting too much food in the freezer. We stopped buying as many groceries and the fridge was still was not keeping cool. After 5 months of groceries going bad, they finally switched out our fridge with another one.

The $600 NONREFUNDABLE PET FEE they charge you PER PET is not used towards pet damages. We would not have minded not getting our $600 back since they explained to us from the beginning that it was nonrefundable.. except that the carpets needed to be replaced in 2 bedrooms (because of our pet cat) but they are not using the $600 PET "FEE" towards those damages and are instead charging us an additional $590. When we complained to the office they stated that the "pet fee" was simply a non-refundable fee that is paid to allow the pet to live on the premises but is not actually used to repair any of the damages to the apartment caused by the pet.

Property Manager at Towne Oaks responded to this review

The city of CC bills us one month behind for water. That is explained at the time of application. Everyone that moves out has a current water bill due, and also a pro-rated bill of approximately 3 weeks due to the bill being read around the 6th of... every month. Please call the office if you need further explanation.
