Worst Experience... EVER.

The bedroom that I had in this apartment was 1/3 of the size compared to my three other roommates. It also did not have any windows or a personal bathroom and I still had the same rent price despite the fact ($675 per month). This complex does not have a gym, common area, or anything like most for the price you pay as well. Walls are paper thin so you can hear everything going on in your roommates rooms at all times as well as your neighbors apartment. The whole complex smells of weed constantly... and the apartment I was in did not have any windows you could open even though it was on the second floor of the building. Security is non-existent for this complex minus the one run-in I had with a security guard that was on his phone and completely unmoved by the numerous parties going on in the building. That being said, it is a major party house. You are assigned two parking spots upon move-in and have to rotate cars if all roommates have cars that want to be in the gated lot. While the gated lot is nice, the street is not. Cars get broken into left and right as well as hit. Also, management says in the lease that they have 24/7 surveillance of the gated parking lot... I found that to be untrue when my car was sideswiped and they told me they had not been working for a number of months so I couldn't get proof of who hit my car. Management took it upon themselves to call the people of the apartment next to my space without my consent and give them my info after telling them they hit my car. Not sure if they know that you cannot just give someones name, number, email, etc. away like that. The apartment itself breaks many codes on the inside. My fridge constantly leaked and the dishwasher basically fell out of the wall when I first used it due to improper installment. Management said "there is nothing we can do." If you have a maintenance request, be prepared to walk around your apartment clothed at all times because they do not warn you before coming or entering. The area is not safe as well, as I had a friend get robbed at gunpoint right at the door. 24/7 surveillance?? 24/7 security guards?? This apartment was the worst decision I ever made as a student. Also, this complex is not affiliated with ODU at all. It says it is, but it is not. I talked to the Dean at ODU and he told me this.
