Avoid at all costs

Do not rent here!!! Avoid at all costs!!!

I recently moved out of this apartment complex after a year long stay and it has been nothing but a headache.

From the very beginning things went downhill fast. When I signed to move in I was told by the staff that the completion/move in date for the building would be complete on July 1st. When I arrived on July 1st the building looked nothing close to complete and I was unable to move in. I had just moved for a new job so I had nowhere to stay during...
this time and was left homeless. When I emailed them about this I got a response saying the agent is currently on vacation and they do not have an update?!?!

Everything seemed cheaply made and the place was falling apart from the get go. My bathroom door just collapsed one day trapping me in there for a couple hours before I was able to lift it up and squeeze my way through the door. Bode's policy of temporary fixes rather than fixing the root cause of a major problem has given me concerns about the safety and integrity of the building.

During my stay, the elevator was constantly broken, multiple times. As a result I had to carry my heavy e-bike up and down 5 flights of stairs everyday as they would not allow me to use the bike cage as it was under maintenance, nor would they allow me to keep the bike in an safe area.

The management is impossible to reach. If you show up to the "Office" nobody's ever there, if you call their number no one responds, if you text/email them they are somehow always on vacation or out of the office.

The straw that broke the camel’s back was the charges I was given on move out. I consider myself a fairly clean person, I cleaned up the apartment the best I could given the time frame they gave me to move out. I had constantly been attempting to call/text them about the move out process for weeks before my expected move out date and I was only given a 1 sentence response. I asked so many questions on the proper procedure, what needs to be done, etc. And I get a 1 sentence response responding to where can I return my mail key: ".... the office"

500 to repaint the apartment??? Some hidden areas of the apartment weren't painted correctly when I first moved in so when I when to unplug the fridge and oven as part of my move out the paint was nonexistent. Additionally, a giant bubble of water appeared in the wall one day and messed up the paint as well as some of my electronics.

In total they charged me $1000+ to move out!!!!!

Don’t move in here.

I leased when they opened and I plan to move out as soon as my lease ends. I was told at the time of my lease signing that they would be paying WSG (water, sewer, gas) and that the only utility I’d pay was my electricity. They just tacked on like $500 for WSG to my next months rent to “back date the costs” and sent me an email AFTER I reached out about it. I had asked twice when I signed my lease to confirm I wouldn’t pay this utility so that’s ridiculous.
Trash valet leaves things in the...
hallway constantly, they’re very finicky on the requirements. I’d put my recyclables out in a box or in my dog’s empty food bag for easy pick up and they’ve leave a notice. Ridiculous.
The elevator has broken down twice now and both times it’s been broken for a week or longer.
The building front door keypad broke for like a month so there were random people all over. I’d find homeless people in the stairwell when I went out at night to walk my dog.
The management on all of this is trash, save yourself the drama and live somewhere else!
