Good, Not Great
Chose to live at Ramayana because it was a large unit for a decent price that allowed me to walk to work, had secure entry and off-street reserved parking (paid). You can barely hear neighbors but you definitely will if someone in the building is having a party. Unit was renovated prior to moving in - it got new appliances, flooring and a splash of paint. The unit was hard to heat in the winter and never really cooled down in the summer. My unit also had bad moisture problems - I know it's... Seattle, but this was so bad that running fans or dehumidifiers didn't make a difference and it was constantly an issue. If you're looking for convenience and a larger apartment than ones nearby, this is a good option, but it has drawbacks.

Lovely Living at Ramayana
My husband and I have been tenants at the Ramayana for 3 years. We looked extensively for a unit in Capitol Hill that was accommodating in its (1) size and square footage, (2) condition, (3) parking options, and of course, (4) location. Ramayana was above and beyond the winner in our search! The 1-bedroom units are spacious and far bigger than other 1-bedrooms on the hill and the layout is great. The bonus is that our unit had been gutted and renovated so we basically moved into a new unit -... and we know they have been slowly renovating/updating the rest of the units. In the 3 years we have been there, we have never heard a neighbor's TV through the walls or footsteps on the ceiling - the only noise we hear drifts from the hallway and it is still quiet. There is coin-op washer/dryers on each floor, an elevator and stairs on each end of the building; secure parking and two secure entry doors; and in a FANTASTIC location just around the corner from the Light Rail, multiple bars and restaurants. While I drive to work M-F, I do not need to use my car on the weekends! Parking is reasonably priced compared to other complexes and they were able to offer us 2 spots. There have been very few negatives for us living here - little in-unit storage (forces us to get creative), heating the unit is tough (baseboard heating is expensive), and small counter space in kitchen/bathroom (can't change that). The Management is very responsive and only continues to get better. We continue to stay at the Ramayana because the pros significantly outweigh the cons and it is one of the best deals for apartment living on the hill!

Improved Safety Measures
The new property manager has done a great job to ensure that the building is secure and stays safe for both residents and packages coming to the building. The communication level has improved significantly and I always feel in the know with what is happening at the building. Much appreciated customer!

Good but could be better
This is definitely an older building so I can't complain too much. The units were recently remodeled and they look great. It's quiet; I hardly ever hear my neighbors or from the unit above me.
The apartment is hard to heat in the winter and hard to cool in the summer. There is a serious moisture problem and even if you use de-humidifiers, the moisture level in the house is uncomfortable.
The central hallways smell strange and stuffy.
Overall, it's a pretty good place for the location, but I... think I'll be looking else where once my lease is up.
