Great apartments, wonderful walking neighborhood
Echo Ridge Apartments are comfortable and well-built and maintained. I have never heard sounds from neighbors through the walls, but I do hear crackling noises from them walking around upstairs and other normal floor noises. The kitchen is laid out conveniently (they are all identical). They say on their Web site that there are linen closets -- but they are actually hall closets, and darned small ,too. Closets other than the master are small, at least in our unit. The high ceilings help with a... spacious feeling. The fireplace is really great -- inexpensive to operate and heats well.
Apartment management policies are pretty standard -- meaning that everything will go their way. There was one charge in the beginning that I didn't expect, $100 for setting up utility billing, that I thought was unnecessary and unfair. I hate that there's a monthly pet fee, but that is standard. Do read your contract and make sure you know what's coming. Don't buy the renters' insurance they will advertise, as you can get it way cheaper from your own insurance agent, but keep up your paperwork so there's no chance of getting that option forced on you.
Maintenance requests are handled promptly and politely. The staff here is professional and friendly at the same time, and it's kind of hard to get that combination sometimes.
And the neighborhood is fabulous for walking! There are parks nearby, and trails for both bikes and walking. I love being near all the great restaurants and the grocery store.
