Mold ??
My apartment was given to me dirty. The carpets hadn’t been vacuumed much less cleaned. The first step in my staircase was broken upon move in and it took them nine months of me continually asking them for them to send someone to fix it. They assured me that it was a mistake that my carpets hadn’t been cleaned prior to my move in and that they would send someone to do that but I am moving out at the end of this week and they never did. There was a large burn mark on the stair railing as well.... About into a week of me living here I got around to doing a deep cleaning of my bathroom and noticed that the entire underneath of my toilet was coated in black mold. You can also tell above the shower that they had tried to just paint over the mold growth. Under the sink there was a jagged hole in which the plumbing went through and upon inspection I found that there was a black mold infestation inside the walls. No matter how much I cleaned or what products I used the mold still recurred and when I reported this to management they had the audacity to ask if I had tried cleaning with bleach. I also had raccoons living in my ceiling for a period of time. They were quick to call animal control to apprehend the raccoons but did nothing to address the damage the raccoons had caused to my ceiling. The laundry facilities are often broken and the washers are filled with mildew. It doesn’t seem that they preform any upkeep on their machines. Since this is a smoking building the halls regularly reek of tobacco smoke and took a bit of a toll on my lungs and exacerbated my asthma. Three months before the end of my lease they started doing showings of my apartment two or more times per week while I was at work. This proved to be very stressful for my cat. I’ve never been so excited to move out of somewhere.
