DO NOT MOVE INTO ALESSIO APARMENTS - VERY UNSAFE

Please take the time and read the horrible reviews for this apartment complex, they are all true. I wish I had saved myself the trouble and listened to the bad reviews. I have lived in this apartment for 3 years, and the past few months this place has gone down hill fast.

There is not enough room to discuss all the horrible experiences I have had living here, but I will hit the highlights.

In the past 3 weeks, my car has been broken into TWICE. The 24/7 security is useless. When I called to...
report the issue, I was told by security that they would be reviewing the camera footage and an investigation would be occurring. When I followed up, I was told by property management that they would not review any camera footage, would not be doing an investigation, and my car is my responsibility. Cars are broken into and stolen directly out of the gated garage constantly.

I had a $500 package stolen out of the mailroom. I called to report the issue and was told by the property management that they would be reviewing the cameras. After a few days, I followed up and was told packages are my responsibility and there will be no investigation.

This apartment complex has gone downhill the past few months. There are constantly large groups of people just hanging out in the hallways, wandering around, drinking, smoking, being loud. Our neighbor was standing out front yesterday and someone STOLE HER DOG. I have been harassed and screamed/cursed at by random people in the garage. Me and my roommate have been followed by people and have had weird items left outside our door. Creepy men constantly are harassing us, and took photos of us in the hot tub. Dogs are always off leash and have attacked my dog. No one picks up after their dogs.

This apartment complex is VERY UNSAFE. I have never in my life felt so unsafe living somewhere.

My biggest problem with Alessio Apartments is the property management DOES NOT CARE ABOUT THE SAFETY OF THE TENATS. My issue is not entirely with the crime that is occurring - we live in Los Angeles, car break-ins, packages getting stolen happen from time to time. My biggest issue is with how the property management team responds when I reach out to get help with these situations. There is never any sympathy, no apologies for my belongings being stolen, no "we're here to help." They always throw the lease in your face and say your belongings are your responsibility, and they will do nothing to help you.

Do yourself a favor AND DO NOT MOVE HERE.

Property Manager at Alessio responded to this review

We're really sorry to hear about your experience. Your feedback is invaluable in helping us identify areas for improvement. We will be discussing with our security team to ensure they are addressing situations such as yours in the correct manner, but... to also increase patrol in areas that may be needed more than others. As you stated, Los Angeles is a city where crime occurs quite often. Please know that crime prevention is a top priority of ours, but despite our efforts, we hope you understand that we cannot guarantee the safety and security fully. Unfortunately, when residents do experience a break-in or theft, we encourage all residents who experience a theft or break in to file a police report. Then, our team will work with local authorities in providing any available footage or information that may assist with your situation. If you have this information, please feel free to forward the information and our team can work with LAPD. We value your residency and want to create an environment that meets your expectations. If you would like to connect further, please give us a call at 310-568-2773. - Diana D, Community Relations Manager

Worst place, money thrown away

Apparently beautiful place, but poor management. Noise from intense neighbors, every day. And they don't solve anything. I never bothered so much, total regret. If you don't want a headache, delete this place. You arrive with a problem to solve and it is never solved. The manager is terrible, inept. I never lived in a place where people can do anything, party until late at night, noise, screams and everything is fine. The others need, after a busy day, to listen to everything, because it... is land without law. There are no rules here. You pay dearly to bother. I will not recommend it to anyone. NEVER.

Terrible place to live

Bad place to live. They care about the resident only until they close the contract. After that, what counts for them is money that you pay per month. And if you go on social media to complain, they block it. Worst experience of life.
Place with noisy and rude neighbor.

Lot of noise

At first the structure may attract your attention, but make no mistake. The office only cares about a resident when signing the contract, after that any problem other than maintenance, they wrap you up when they can. And they don't solve anything. There is no concern for noisy neighbors, they place anyone and there are terrible, noisy, rude neighbors who have loud parties. What looks like a dream becomes hell.

fake luxury

Fake luxury. Live somewhere else. Any amount that you might save through their rent specials could be offset by how many packages you will have stolen. I've had so many stolen in the 3 months I've lived here. Many of my friends here have also had packages stolen. I can't tell if management cares because they haven't done anything like put up lockers or hold all packages like literally any other building i've lived in. I had to personally contact postal inspectors and law enforcement. Theft is... rampant here. A neighbor's car was broken into (in the underground garage) and they smashed his windows. After complaining about the stolen packages they told me I should have them delivered somewhere else or I should personally put up a camera. Lol.

Many provisions of the lease don't seem to be actively enforced so if you have a charcoal barbecue that makes a huge smell and causes smoke to go into a neighbor's house.

I constantly see people drinking beer in the parking structure or smoking pot. Not a problem for me, but I'd prefer if they did it in their own apartment if they actually live here. If they're homeless then I get it, they don't have anywhere else to do this.

The property can be kind of overly lit at night. This is an easy fix though. Many of the neighbors put up shower curtains on their patio or aluminum foil on the windows. I suppose you can pay $150 for blackout shades but several neighbors clearly went the DIY route.

Visitor parking, if you can find a spot, seems to be rarely enforced and I've seen cars parked there for months. Not really sure why anybody pays for a spot.

Security is so meh. Anybody could just drive right in behind a resident or say they forgot their key, or say they're delivering a pizza. Twice now someone has tried to open the door to my unit. One time it wasn't locked and they did while I was home. Luckily my doberman made it very vocally clear that no trespassers are welcome.

There is dog poop everywhere. I wonder if management ever cleans it up because even after the gardeners come and mow, there's still weeks old caked dog poop all over the grass. I think this is because several dogs walk themselves. Some owners leave the patio door open and the dog comes and goes as they please.

If you care about this, management doesn't enforce the mask mandate once you leave the leasing area. They put up "mask required" signs on some doors but they don't actively enforce it. So if you don't like wearing a mask this is a good place.
