Gilbert Greens Apartamentos

First and foremost, DO NOT RENT HERE. I have been a resident since 2017 and ever since Chamberlin and Associates took over, this complex has gone downhill. We have had a maintenance request in the system since March 13th and it still has not been completed. I have spoken multiple times to both maintenance staff and to Carla, the property manager, about it being completed and they always say they will complete it and they still haven’t to this day. Also, last Friday our washing machine broke. We... called at 2:30 PM to let them know. Mind you, we pay $75/month for a washer and dryer. Maintenance came on Monday to look at it so we went all weekend without a washing machine. We were told the part would be in and installed yesterday (Wednesday 4/5) and nobody ever came. I called today to find out what was going on and finally maintenance came to install it. The worker was working on it for a bit then abruptly left. We had to call the office to find out why he suddenly left then we were told now it won’t be fixed until tomorrow. That will mark 1 week without a washing machine. We asked to use a vacant units washing machine and were told no and that we could use the laundromat on site, which we would have to PAY MORE MONEY to use. They don’t care about getting things done for you as a resident. I recommend living here if you want nothing done and want to pay a high amount of rent for an outdated apartment. Lee mas

We were in a rush to move and this was the only place in Gilbert that had an apartment ready to move into. I read the reviews and can say they can be off putting. But I needed a place ASAP.

Don’t believe everything you read! Brynnen helped me with my move in. I applied Thursday evening - well after hours. And by Saturday day, the property manager approved me and moved me in within hours of approval!!! I can’t thank them enough for really understanding my need to move ASAP and getting it done... so quickly. Felt like they genuinely cared.

Truly living in the Gilbert slums. Terrible maintenance. Terrible management that nickel and dime you to death! Brass ceiling fans, popcorn ceilings, laminate counters and cabinets that are peeling, mismatched and decades old appliances, counters that are attached to wall by globs of caulking. Add in 75.00 a month to have a stackable washer and dryer that probably won’t be from this decade, very high water fees, no gym and awful landscaping that is constantly flooded out for hours (nice winter... grass seed floating down the street)and add in cockroaches, rats, and German roaches. A working stove is considered two working burners and the other two you are required to pull out of the stove and shove back in for it to ‘maybe’ heat up. You don’t get to decide if you want style over affordability. Don’t think “it’s not as bad as they say” and take a chance renting here. Just say NO!!! Lee mas

If you’re deciding between this place because it’s cheaper then most other Gilbert apartment complexes and another one that’s slightly more expensive go with the other one. I’ll list the pros and cons for you.
Pros
-save about $100-$200 per month
-good location surprisingly quiet being close to downtown Gilbert
-nice office staff
-nice neighbors
-plenty of parking

Cons
-this place is old and need of major renovations.
-this place has roaches (took them 6 months to finally break down and do a... major treatment)
-if you daily routine includes taking a shower after work count on not having water at least once a month because they constantly have to shut the water off because they have plumbing/pool problems. On 2 occasions I received no warning that the water was going to be off!!!
-while the office staff is nice their ability to get things done is severely lacking. I’ve had 2 outlets in my living area that haven’t worked properly since I moved in and I put in multiple tickets and it never got taken care of. They schedule you to repair something and half the time the people don’t show up.
-in my time there they’ve been through 3 maintenance people so no wonder stuff isn’t getting done

So in my opinion just go with the slightly more expensive place it’ll be nicer on the inside and probably managed better as well. You’ll just have to sacrifice eating out a few times a month. Hopefully this helps you in your apartment search. Lee mas

Literally, the most degrading and unprofessional experience I have ever had trying to rent an apartment. Let's start with the embarrassment of having to bring in my arthritic dog weeks before my move in date to have the receptionist, who clearly is credentialed, to determine my mutt wasn't MIXED with a bully breed. Little did I know, I would also be waiting around for another 20 minutes while she ran back and forth to her apartment to find the right batteries so that she could WEIGH ME first on... a bathroom scale and then make me pick up my 40lb dog to weigh us both and subtract the difference. I still had to bring in his vaccination records so I really, really don't understand why this information couldn't also be given with all of his veterinary records. Because I had to bring this information in still, I asked if they wanted any of his other records on file, like his service animal registration. I guess they took this as me trying to get out of paying extra fees-which I had already discussed and agreed with doing- because they then demanded that I needed to sign a release form for them to be able to speak with my doctor about my dog being prescribed to me. Now they won't return my $100 holding deposit because I was approved to move in, yet haven't signed anything. Even though, I was insulted by them to the point of not feeling comfortable living there anymore. Not because I changed my mind about the price or location at the last minute, but because of them and how embarrassed I feel now. Lee mas
