A Decent Starting Place
I lived in this apartment from 2024-2025 and there were a lot of great things to appreciate from it, with some inconveniences that can either make or break this place for you.
Management is on site, so every time I needed something fixed it was resolved within a week or less. At the start of your lease, you fill out a checklist of all the things wrong/need adjusted when you first move in. This is important to make note of because it ensures you get your deposit back and document if something is... already broken. Maybe my apartment was great, but I had no issues at all with the place itself. There were no bugs in my apartment, save for the occasional spider or pincher bug, but there is a lot of greenery and trees in this complex. I loved the 24/7 laundromat which synced to an app, and also had a camera inside the place. There were plenty washers and dryers(be mindful of busy Sundays). I never had problems with neighbors, and everyone keeps to themselves. The complex was also clean, and I NEVER saw strange/homeless people in the place - even with it being a non-gated area. This place is walking distance to a market plaza, and 5 minutes from the mall, schools, parks, Costco, Starbucks, Harkins, the freeway, and other places in the heart of Chino Hills. The pool is generally available, but families are pretty polite and mindful of one another. I’ve also never had issues with my packages being stolen (and I lived on the bottom floor) and the mailbox is always taken care of.
Some negatives that ruined the experience was mainly parking. They are strict about towing cars if they don’t have a sticker and parking is a free for all scramble, with very tight parking. If you can’t find parking, you have to park across the street. Cars have gotten broken into, and my roommate had their car window smashed... Something also highly upsetting is when they trim the pine trees in the complex, the sap drips ALL OVER your car. I still have sap on my car, and it’s difficult to keep it off during these trimming periods. Other minor bothers is that the laundromat gets dirty fast, and the machines will get busted, yet they keep increasing the price like every 4 months to wash/dry. As far as apartment bothers, I didn’t like how they just paint over the inside of the tub, and it began to chip over a few months. Little lazy things like that.
Overall, a decent place that can truly be a fabulous home if you really avoid the parking issue and be aware of other minor troubles.
