I chose 1000 Grand as my home because of the open and airy layout with the centerpiece being the fountain. It adds a relaxing experience have a water feature especially in Southern California where we rarely see rain. I like the apartment layouts as well, as they are one of the few locations that offer a peninsula island design for a more affordable price instead of the common open concept kitchen without an island.
The reason, why I gave Grand 6/10 when it came to recommending it to a friend... was the recent cuts they’ve made to some quality of life aspects for residents. We used to have on site leasing agents who were available during indicated office hours when a resident had a concern and need. Now we have floating leasing agents, that aren’t here majority of the time or sitting in a hidden office ( which I understand to get work done without interruptions). They do eventually return your call if no one is available in the office. Also they used to have printers available in the lobby for residents if they needed to print something. When I first moved her a year and a few months (shows how many changes occurred in just a year) from another state I was job searching due to a job change and having just moved I did not have a printer. It was a considerate feature to have when I needed to print out work documents and my resume. Now that’s not a feature they have anymore.
And I ultimately the reason why my rating was impacted when it comes to recommending it is the amount of times my package's were stolen. If a package was accidentally delivered to the mailing room and not the packaging room, it can be taking in a matter of an hour to a few hours before you can retrieve it. This goes beyond packages. Another resident went to put groceries away and left her gallon of water next to her car door and in a few minutes when she came back it was gone. There’s nothing being done about all the thievery here. You might see apartment security here and there. It seems like recently there’s been cuts to that as well. Rent is increasing but resident services are being cut/scaled back.
