Don’t lease here!!!
I moved in to Citadel on March of 2024. The management here is probably the worst one I’ve seen in my life! For months I’ve been complaining about my heater and that the furnace doesn’t work at all/doesn’t work properly and nobody cares!
A few weeks ago my furnace didn’t work and I woke up in the morning freezing and shaking, it was snowing outside and the snow storm lasted for 4 days but my heater didn’t work at all! The temperature inside even dropped to 54 degrees! For a week I had to look... for an alternative place to stay for me and my dog. The leasing office knew about it and they came in and out of my unit many times but they still haven’t fixed my heater! Btw, the management solution for me for the snow storm was giving me a small space heater that kept flipping the breaker every 5 minutes. My unit is over 1,000 sqft and the ceiling is probably 10ft tall! A small space heater from Walmart is not enough!!! It all happened just when the old manager was fired and the complex sold to a new owner. Now, the new owners don’t want to take responsibility for compensating me because they say it’s not on them (because it all happened literally a day or two before they stepped in) but the thing is that my heat still doesn’t work! I just woke up in the morning freezing because although I set the thermostat on 72 degrees the furnace stops running and now, it’s 5:40am and the temperature inside is 66 degrees and keep dropping! Instead of sleeping in on Saturday which is my only day off, I need to wake up freezing and can’t fall asleep again. For tomorrow night, I’ll have to find myself and my dog another place to stay (again). Am I paying for a place to live or a storage unit?!?!
I’ll note that the whole thing has been going on for over a month now! This means that for more than a month I don’t have proper heat in my place, even when the temperature outside has already dropped to 9 degrees a few days ago since this is December in Colorado, it’s not Florida here! Over a month of me having to find alternative living solutions for me and my dog for some of the days like we’re refugees, over a month of me being constantly cold and sick and over a month of the leasing office refusing to compensate me, take responsibility and fix my heater already!
If after reading all that you still want to lease a unit here, that’s on you! This is my warning to everyone who sick a place to live in, STAY AWAY FROM HERE!
