Ridge at Castle Rock Apartments

I rarely write any reviews, especially about management companies, landlords, etc. I felt compelled to write this review due to the awesome experience I had here. I was always greeted by both Nicole and Alex with a positive, upbeat, attitude.

In the past, when I walked into a leasing office with an issue, it was generally almost always a negative experience. Not here; really feel like both Nicole and Alex hit the mark with how they managed through some pretty tough situations with vendors,... snow removal, contractors, yard maintenance, etc.

It is important to keep into context what their job is, and what is in their scope of control. There were some minor nuances that felt excessive such as their patio policy, rent emails, etc., but none of these policies are set by the leasing office, they just have a responsibility to follow the management companies requirements. That being said, they always handled my concerns with care, and did not dismiss my frustrations when an issue arose.

Also, want to give a shout-out to the maintenance crew. These guys are awesome, friendly, and responsive.

Keep up the awesome service, as at the end of the day, service is what people will remember...

The only good thing I can say about this apartment community is the maintenance staff is great. They seem to be the only ones there who can do their jobs efficiently and correctly. Everything else is about this community and that whole side of town is awful. It feels like living in L.A. and not classic, cozy, beautiful Colorado. Avoiding renting here at all costs.

DO NOT RENT HERE. The staff in the office have horrible communication skills. You can never get anybody on the phone and they’re slow at returning emails. They also shamelessly charge hidden fees. We cleaned the carpets and had the apartment spotless upon our departure. It was in much better shape than when we arrived. We did the preliminary walkthrough with their maintenance guy and he said, “You guys obviously cleaned this place above and beyond.” They normally charge $290 for cleaning... at the end but he was going to try and get that waived for us. Well, surprise, we get a bill for $290 at the end and they threaten to send you to collections if you don’t pay it. There is nothing to clean since it’s been done already but they charge you anyway. This money goes straight to the owner’s pocket because when we took occupancy last December, the place was filthy and the carpets were definitely not cleaned. My daughter is allergic to dogs and our new vacuum literally pulled piles of dog hair and dust mites out of the carpet. The oven was so dirty we couldn’t get the grease out of it so we never used it. The walls are paper thin and you can hear everything your neighbors are doing, especially on the floor above you. The construction quality is substandard: crooked walls, electrical issues, poor finishing work, etc. They charge way too much for what you get. Not worth the money.
