Listen to the warnings.
I've lived here 3yrs and will be moving out in a couple of months. I wouldn't live here again and wouldn't recommend anyone I know to live here unless it's all they can afford. I think most people end up here because it's what they can afford. The company that owns this place knows that and all of their staff act accordingly. If it's all you can afford, then just make sure to document EVERYTHING and be prepared for disrespectful treatment from both the property manager and possibly upper... management. The only time they were ever somewhat decent towards me was when they refused to fix whatever was going on with the electricity in my apartment, and I had to threaten a suit if it wasn't properly fixed instead of just patched up like they had been doing. Properly working electricity is considered a necessity for habitability by law. If it weren't, you can bet these people wouldn't have done a thing about it. I can only assume that they would be less horrible if the clientele weren't working-class people needing a roof over their heads. If you can find something else, PLEASE choose there. If not, good luck and move as soon as you can afford to do so. Your quality of life depends on it.
