CAR TOWED
Update July 2024:
**PARKING SUCKS VEHICLES WILL BE TOWED. DO NOT LIVE HERE IF YOU DRIVE A CAR. GATE IS BROKEN FOR SEVERAL MONTHS. THEFT INCREASE IN CARS.**
I have lived here now 1 year and 9 months. I got home from a 2 week trip to Italy (which I told the office about in person - letting them know my car would sit here and I was having someone pick me up and drop me off from the airport late). I had a friend drive me to the airport and pick me up from the airport because they work late night... early morning shifts. My flight returned to Tampa around 8:15pm, by the time I got my luggage, got picked up, got dinner with my friend, and returned to my place it was around 10:00- 10:30 pm. My friend helped me unload their vehicle and bring my luggage in and to visit about my trip since it was "waking hours" for both of us due to their work schedule and my travels. When they went to leave for work around 4:00am the car was gone. It was towed at 2:40AM.
Let me be clear, there were no open visitor spots but there were over 20+ resident spots open in the far back lot. I instructed my friend to park there since it was far away from the front, in the very back corner, there were over 20 spots available, and residents were in visitor spots. The car sat there for around 4 hours and was towed. My friend was going to be at my home as a guest for around 5 to 6 hours total. I had to pay $197.00 to get my friend's car out of the lot and also pay for an Uber to pick it up. The office management was unhelpful. It is astounding to me that the office can dictate when we can/can't have visitors after a certain period. What about circumstances like this or for people who work night shift? Esp., after the office was notified of my travel and guest pick up drop off. They report we need to get a "guess placard" before having guests on property. This is impossible when the office has one person in it most of the time is only open till 6pm and has minimal weekend hours.
Also, the gate has been broken for over 2 months now with notice of if or when it will be back up and running. Which has lead to an increase in thefts in cars and them sending out emails to not leave anything in vehicles but not emails about how they intend to fix the gate or get it working.
GATE HAS BEEN BROKEN FOR MONTHS and PARKING SUCKS
