Not worth the rent

We moved into this location about a year ago and have been unhappy with our apartment since. The main issues are ongoing renovation, poor renovated unit quality, poor sound/heat insulation, and poor ventilation.

Ongoing Renovation: As people move out, their units are renovated. I was not told this when I moved in. As a result, about 50% of my workdays I have to deal with construction noise. Today my floor has been vibrating for 6 hours straight. I was told this renovation process will...
likely take a year or longer to complete.

Renovation Quality: The quality of construction is very low and key things to update were not addressed. On move in our floors were covered in white paint specs that we still are removing. The apartment was visibly dirty (the unit we were shown was not...). They put a new coat of paint on and some new floors but kept the old floorboard heating and closet doors. The doors regularly fall out of their guide. The kitchen electrical outlets failed within the first week of us being there and had to be replaced.

Sound/Heat insulation: I can regularly hear my, albeit relatively loud, neighbors' entire conversations. Perhaps the renovation noise wouldn't be so bad if the apartments were properly sound insulated. The unit uses baseboard heating off one thermostat, this means that every room varies in temperature significantly. This is made worse by the in wall AC units which are drafty during the winter. Even with us covering them our electric bill is significantly higher than our previous electrically heated unit.

Ventilation: The unit has no dedicated fume hood in the kitchen, this wouldn't be a deal breaker but the way the building is ventilated that means you smell everyone's dinner (and other odors). We have to keep the bedroom bathroom door closed, not because of bathroom smells, but because I don't want to smell my neighbor's dinner in my bedroom. There are also no bathroom fans, which has led to mildew growth on the ceiling in the bathroom.

Building maintenance: One of the elevators has been out now for at least a month, its gotten to the point that we only use stairs. Maintenance requests take a while to get resolved and were not fully addressed. The building's roads are well maintained including adequate snow removal though be warned you'll hear it all night during a storm due to the poor noise insulation of the building.

Will not be renewing our lease here, look elsewhere at this pricepoint

Pls Refrain from taking the Lease in this Apartments

We are stuck here after renewing our Lease. Our both Elevator is broken from past 4 months. They took 2 months to fix one elevator.
But they are not fixing the other elevator which is impacting a lot.
Management doesn't bothers to fix elevator and services are very bad.
Think before signing up the lease

MICE, MOLD,DIRTY,BROKEN ELEVATORS

Place is gross. Washers smell like mold, buildings are old and dirty. Apartments have leaks and mold, not updated. MICE. MICE. Do not move here at any cost. They charge so much for rent and don’t offer ANYTHING BUT MISERY LIVING HERE

Living space is great, but there are other problems

The apartment itself and the parking lot are great. No complaints there.

Everything else, not so much. The elevator in our building is "newly renovated," but it makes terrible sounds, it's slow, and sometimes it moves when the doors are still open.

The mail system is awful. Sometimes packages end up in the lobby, sometimes in my mailbox, at my door, in the leasing office lobby, or in the leasing office mailroom. 90% of the time, packages that arrive on the weekend are inaccessible until Monday...

The leasing office is only open on weekdays, and only till 5. So if you work 9-5 you'll need to email them to leave your packages in the lobby. The leasing office staff are very friendly and helpful, I just don't think mail should be handled there.

The back door of our building has been broken for months. It doesn't lock, and I don't think there have been any attempts to fix it. The ground floor smells like cigarettes sometimes, too.

Nothing is bad enough to make me want to move, especially since the rent is reasonable. But there are a lot of little things that need to be addressed.

Not Value For Money

Not Value For Money (For building 5 & 6) . The rent is too high for even a 1BHK. Following are the major issues I faced while living in Building 5:
1. Running water in kitchen and toilet stops anytime without notice. On calling the apartment office, they will tell you its an emergency shut down and will be restored 'shortly'. But ultimately the water will come after an hour or two. This happens in every three weeks. Sometimes hot water stops coming. This happens quite frequently.
2. There is no...
check on security devices. Every building has a controlled entry through two gates. In both the building 5 and 6, the locks are tampered and is in broken condition for last 2 months. There is a CCTV camera in front of the gates but no actions taken till date.
3. The window blinds are too old and of cheap materials which breaks easily. They are replacing the window for some building now but not sure how long it will take to cover all.
4. I live in 6th floor and both the lift was out of order for one day. Most of the time one lift is only working (the one working doesn't move swiftly) and you have to wait at least 5 min before you get one.
5. The equipment like oven, refrigerator are 50 years old. Please check before you move in. Some apartment have better ones.
6. There is a small playground for all 9 buildings. During summer, its too much crowded.
