New management ruins renting experience
My mom had lived at Painters Mill since 2014 when management was good and had done a great job in keeping the apartment clean and safe. Now with the most recent management, so much poor activity has been condoned. For example, we've experienced trash overfilling the dumpsters. There have been reported instances of tires being stolen, residents smoking upstairs and other suspicious activity. The last straw was the management company sending an eviction notice and a significant invoice summons to... her the DAY after Christmas for a microwave shorting fire incident that caused MINOR damages. The fire was put out promptly and no damages were made other than the microwave itself. Yet, in what world do you get kicked out for putting out a fire for a malfunctioning microwave?? The management told my mom not only to move out but to not even speak to them WHILE paying them rent for the entire month. It's just insane.
Unfortunately, my mom had to move out of Painters Mill. However, her renter's insurance company saw the evidence that the microwave damages were much less than the Painters Mill apartments portrayed and called their bluff. So in summary, Painters Mill management tried to be greedy and cut corners and as a result, lost a good tenant while trying to increase rent for new tenants. Consider NOT renting from Painters Mill Apartments under the new management.
1/25 Update: My mom has since moved out before the January deadline Painters Mill requested and now they're trying to charge her rent for January, February, along with utilities bills for previous months that she's paid in her rent! So not only will she not get her deposit, she's now getting charged for two months rent AFTER she's moved out. All this during a pandemic! The management's response may say this situation is atypical, their handling is well below standard customer service to say the least.
The management at this complex has no soul and is only about the bottom line. I would give 0 stars if I could.
