Northway Apartments

We have stayed in Northway Apartments for nearly a decade in both the 481 and 451 buildings. We had the best experience all these years. The Apartments were spacious, with good light and air circulation.
The closet space was great. The walls and door have good insulation, so there were no noise issues in all these years.
The Apartment Manager Ms.Jennifer is a friendly person and always talks kindly and responds to our requests immediately. Both our move-in and move-out process was very smooth... .
The Apartment's Maintenance team with Mr.Terry and Mr.Jake, both are friendly people, with excellent skills, always talked kindly to us and fixed any maintenance issues and requests immediatly.
The property is always maintained neatly and well kept. The buildings have secured entrance and we felt very safe in all the seasons.The Laundry was in the basement for easy access.
The Block Northway mall was just behind the apartment and mcknight road is easily accessible with so many restaurents and stores.There is a bus stop right outside the apartment.

If you're looking for luxury apartments in the North Hills, keep looking. But if you're looking for an affordable, comfortable, and spacious place to call home for a while, this might be a good fit for you. I have lived in a one bedroom, one bathroom apartment here for a few years and overall I have had a good experience. Maintenance requests are usually handled same day, and Union Real Estate seems to be invested in improving the property slowly but surely (new windows, new vinyl floors in the... emergency stairwell, etc.). Elevators don't always work and the entrance is a split level, so they don't go down to the basement and you have to walk up about 12 steps to get to the elevator, which makes a few of the buildings pretty inaccessible to anyone with disabilities. But there are other accessible buildings in the complex, so if that's a concern you might get lucky.

The price is hard to beat, especially considering how hot the North Hills is right now, plus the location behind Aldi and Marshalls and on a bus line is very convenient. Definitely an up and coming place to live.
The interior of the apartments are a bit dated and drab - beige concrete walls, brown (new) carpeting, and old appliances and utilities, but everything works and it is pretty clean.

Neighbors are hit and miss - a few grouchy folks, a few friendly folks, a few people who smoke or cook with strong spices which you can smell in the hallway, but mostly people keep to themselves and don't leave interact, which isn't a bad thing.

The laundry room is clean and there isn't a lot of competition, but there is only one machine to recharge the cards in the other building, which can be a pain in winter. Bugs or other pests have never been an issue for us. The storage rooms definitely need some attention and TLC but they stay dry and serve their purpose.

Management and maintenance are friendly and responsive. Overall review: Good place to stay for a few years to save money and live in a comfortable place in a great neighborhood for an affordable price. Lee mas

you can check out the mattresses outside covered in bugs at any given time, we have lived there for 6 months and everyone around us has bed bugs and maintenance takes no preventive measures to make sure they don't spread. We recently went to the office with photos of termites coming out of the floor and they told us it would be a week before someone can come and spray. We had to move everything out of her bedroom because there was termites crawling on everything, Northway Apartments thinks... it's okay to make us wait a week when our apartment is covered in bugs.
