AWFUL!! -- Unsanitary Community with Thin Walled Apartments
If I could give a rating of 0 stars, I absolutely would.
The apartment had supposedly been deep cleaned after the previous tenant left, but the carpet looked and felt old and grimey, like it hadn't been replaced in years. There was also a constant smell of mildew and/or mold that I couldn't ever find the origin of.
The apartment had INCREDIBLY thin walls and floors, and I was woken up at night countless times by screaming matches, crying babies, thunderous footfalls, and children ramming into... the walls at obscure hours. The walls and floors were so thin that I could make out every word my upstairs neighbor said on each phone call. Peace and quiet was rare in my building.
This community is not sanitary, nor is it remotely clean. Valet trash service is a required monthly expense of $35, which is incorporated with the billing for your rent and water/sewer usage. The apartment complex I had previously resided in had valet trash pickup, and was completely tidy before, during, and after designated trash pickup times. Each day Sun-Thurs, you are allowed to place one bag of trash in the bin the trash pickup company issues you and are supposed to place the bin outside of your apartment between 6-8pm for the bags to be picked up in the evening. My building had tenants that would constantly leave trash--oftentimes not even bagged--in front of their doors, in the breezeway of each floor, and on the grounds around the building. Per the agreement with the valet trash company, trash that was not bagged and that did not fit in the bin was not picked up. No one else followed that rule, and that led to trash to be left for days/weeks without being picked up. The trash was so bad that animals would come tear open the trash bags to rummage through for food. I constantly had to step over and around trash to get to my door. The smell was overwhelmingly putrid. I was constantly emailing/calling management regarding trash that was left on the landings. One time, a horribly smelling bag of trash had been left on the back stairs of the building for 2.5 weeks without being picked up. The bag was then drug by an animal, that had ripped the bag open and scattered the trash all over the place, to the patio of the apartment below me and sat for another week. It took 2 weeks of calling/emailing, and eventually speaking with management in person before it was removed and disposed of. Each email/call, the manager said that a maintenance person would "be out soon" to have it removed.
